On the afternoon of December 31, the Department of Information and Communications (MIC) held a conference to summarize the industry in 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025.

In 2024, the IT&T sector continued to be consolidated and developed, achieving many important results of the sector, specifically: The total added value of the digital economy in 2024 is estimated at 2,826.5 billion VND, accounting for 10.16% of the province's GRDP, up 0.54 percentage points over the same period. The document management and direction system has been deployed to all departments, branches and sectors and the 4-level document interconnection axis has been completed. During the year, the Department of Information and Communications has implemented 37/37 full-process online public services, reaching a rate of 100%.

Received and resolved 41/41 files ahead of schedule, with no late or pending files. Press activities continued to be organized, making an important contribution to informing and propagating to serve the province's political tasks, orienting public opinion, and creating consensus in society. The telecommunications network was ensured to serve the leadership and direction of the Party Committee, government, and people in the whole province, contributing to socio-economic development. Postal, telecommunications, and internet businesses in the province continued to develop, revenue continued to increase, and service quality was improved: Postal service output reached 3,826,517 postal items, up 13% over the same period, and 3,720,776 postal deliveries, up 8.5% over the same period, with estimated revenue reaching 171 billion VND, up 5.6% over the same period. The total number of telephone subscribers in the province is 737,430, reaching a density of 117.1 subscribers/100 people, the density of fixed and postpaid telephones is 17 subscribers/100 people. The center for monitoring network safety, security and smart urban operations operates stably, ensuring requirements for information security and safety.

In 2025, the Department of Information and Communications will focus on implementing key tasks, such as: Continuing to effectively implement Resolution No. 09-NQ/TU dated September 28, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on strengthening digital transformation by 2025; implementing the Ninh Thuan Province Digital Transformation Project for the period 2021-2025 and the Ninh Thuan Provincial Party Committee Information Technology Application Project for the period 2021-2025. Investing in upgrading digital infrastructure at the Provincial Data Integration Center, ensuring connection and exploitation of the national population database. Continuing to maintain and upgrade the center for monitoring, operating safety and network security. Promoting the provision of online public services throughout the process, increasing the rate of administrative procedure files received and processed online. Develop postal infrastructure in the direction of delivery infrastructure and logistics infrastructure to serve the development of e-commerce and digital economy in the province.
