More than 2,000 traffic safety awards for students

Da Nang Traffic Safety Contest for Tomorrow's Smiles 2023 - 2024 school year awarded 2,040 prizes to teachers and students nationwide, at secondary and high school levels.

On March 8, Honda Vietnam Company (HVN) coordinated with the Department of Secondary Education - Ministry of Education and Training and the National Traffic Safety Committee to organize the award ceremony of the contest "Traffic Safety for Tomorrow's Smiles" for students and teachers of secondary and high schools in the 2023-2024 school year.

The award structure applied to each secondary and high school level includes 10 first prizes, 20 second prizes, 200 third prizes and 500 consolation prizes for students. One excellent prize, 9 first prizes, 20 second prizes, 60 third prizes and 200 consolation prizes for teachers.

As one of the first prize winners of the secondary school category, Dam Vuong Nam Hai, a student of class 7A3 at Nguyen Dang Dao Secondary School, Bac Ninh, said that the contest helped him raise his awareness of traffic safety. Nam Hai and his classmates actively participated in the school gate model, the art performance on traffic safety, created posters to comply with the law, and drew pictures on the topic. Among them, Hai liked making films on the topic of propagating traffic safety laws the most. In particular, he created his own film instructing how to wear a helmet properly in Vietnamese and English.

Coming from Hai Phong, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen, a teacher at Tran Phu Secondary School, won the excellent prize of the competition, for the secondary school level. According to Ms. Huyen, the competition has a positive impact on teaching about traffic safety, especially when the content of the competition is close and closely related to teaching, so all teachers can participate.

At the award ceremony, Mr. Sai Cong Hong - Deputy Director of the Department of Secondary Education, Ministry of Education and Training highly appreciated HVN's efforts in coordinating the implementation of traffic safety education activities in schools, contributing to improving knowledge about traffic safety as well as encouraging teachers and students to be more active in propaganda activities in the locality.

Previously, on March 7, nearly 100 excellent secondary and high school teachers and representatives of the Department of Education and Training attended a workshop and shared experiences and methods of teaching traffic safety. Here, teachers had the opportunity to meet and discuss the direction of implementing traffic safety training for the period 2023 - 2026 to innovate and improve the quality of teaching at schools.

The "Traffic Safety for Tomorrow's Smiles" contest will be launched from November 2023 in the form of multiple choice and essay questions (for students) and teaching portfolios - including lesson plans and reports on testing the designed teaching process (for teachers).

After more than four months of implementation, the organizing committee has received more than 7,000 high-quality, carefully selected and creative entries. "This shows the interest of education and training departments, teachers and students nationwide in traffic safety as well as the growing attraction of the contest," said a representative of HVN.
