Schools must propagate, mobilize, disseminate, and educate the law on traffic order and safety on roads, railways, and inland waterways to officials, teachers, and students; disseminate Directive No. 31/CT-TTg dated December 21, 2023 of the Prime Minister on strengthening traffic order and safety for school-age children.
At the same time, schools must coordinate with local forces to organize traffic flow at the school gate; open the main and secondary school gates, create multiple entrances and exits for parents, and arrange parking in the school yard (if possible) during rush hours.

The leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City also requested that school heads must encourage parents not to stop or park on the street or sidewalk when picking up and dropping off students, causing congestion in front of the school gate, contributing to building "A clean and safe school gate"; parents and students must wear helmets when participating in traffic by motorbike, scooter, electric bicycle; do not ride side by side, do not run red lights, do not drive when underage or do not have a driver's license; do not weave, swerve, participate in or cheer for illegal racing...

Urgently report the actual situation so that the Department of Education and Training can coordinate with relevant departments and sectors to take coordinated measures to overcome it," the leader of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training requested.

Every parent needs to be a role model for their children when participating in traffic, and also needs to make their children wear helmets when riding motorbikes, scooters, or electric bicycles.

During the first weeks of the new school year 2025-2026, during rush hours, especially after school, traffic jams still occur at many school gates in the city. Many parents stop their motorbikes; stop and park their cars on the street to wait for their children, affecting other traffic, posing a potential safety risk.
Previously, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City also received Official Dispatch No. 12530/KH-SXD-BATGT dated October 20 from the Department of Construction on implementing solutions to overcome traffic congestion in Ho Chi Minh City.
