Over the past two weeks, Huong Khe district has had more than 5,600 people infected with conjunctivitis, including over 2,300 students who are currently sick and have to stay home from school to prevent further spread.
To proactively prevent the spread of the disease, the Education Department of Huong Khe district has temporarily suspended classes for these students.
"In the coming period, we will have a plan to provide supplementary education for students who have to stay at home during the period of conjunctivitis," said the head of the Education and Training Department of Huong Khe district.
In addition, the Education Department of Huong Khe district has coordinated with the Health Department of the district to disseminate knowledge and raise awareness about conjunctivitis so that parents and students can understand and take preventive measures.
"The number of students infected is updated daily. In addition, officials and teachers also take preventive measures when interacting with students during teaching," the head of the District Education and Training Department added.
