Youth union members of the Quang Ngai Provincial Armed Forces (Provincial Military Command), Firefighting and Rescue Team of Region 2, Inter-Union 3 (South Central Coast Mobile Police Regiment), Sub-Union 2 (Mobile Police Department, Quang Ngai Provincial Police), Sub-Union of Squadron 23 (Coast Guard Region 2 Command), together with the People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and Youth Union of Van Tuong commune, launched a campaign to clean up the Son Tra beach area.

Son Tra beach is facing serious environmental pollution, with waste from many sources including household waste, waste from aquaculture activities, waste from the upper Tra Bong river flowing out to the estuary and then washing up on Son Tra beach... affecting people's lives.

Mr. Lu The Lam, Permanent Vice Chairman of Van Tuong Commune People's Committee, said: "Every year, the amount of plastic waste from upstream flows down the Tra Bong River to the estuary and then lands in Son Tra village, causing serious pollution along nearly 500m of coastline, affecting the lives of hundreds of households."
Faced with that situation, local authorities have coordinated with functional forces and people to organize many campaigns to clean up and collect waste to protect the environment.

There is a lot of waste from wood, dry firewood, nylon bags, household waste... The youth union members clean up, collect waste and transport it to a common collection point.

Through this, with the joint efforts of the union members and youth, Son Tra beach will be quickly cleared of garbage. The garbage collection unit has supported the destruction and treatment of about 10 tons of collected garbage.

Comrade Tran Xuan Duc, Secretary of the Youth Union of Dung Quat Port Border Guard Station, said: "Today, armed forces units coordinated with local authorities to clean up the beach, handle garbage collection areas, and at the same time combine propaganda and mobilize people not to litter indiscriminately, join hands to protect the environment and coastal landscape."
