From November 18-23, at the Vietnam National Ethnic Groups Cultural and Tourism Village (Son Tay town, Hanoi), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will organize the "National Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" Week 2025.
The event aims to practically celebrate Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23), while honoring the traditional cultural values of the 54 ethnic groups, affirming the spirit of great unity as a sustainable foundation in the cause of national development.
This year's week features the participation of over 200 artisans and ethnic minority people from 18 ethnic groups (Tay, Nung, Dao, Mong, Muong, Lao, Thai, Kho Mu, Ta Oi, Ba Na, Co Tu, Xo Dang, Gia Rai, Raglai, E De, Khmer, Kinh, Cham Balamon) from 12 provinces and cities, along with representatives from central agencies, international organizations, cultural experts, and tourism businesses.
All activities are carried out by the cultural subjects themselves, ensuring authenticity and originality, while also creating opportunities for exchange and connection between ethnic communities.
The event contributes to showcasing Vietnam's diverse identity, unity, and integration, while also strengthening international cooperation in the fields of culture and tourism.
The opening ceremony is scheduled to take place on the evening of November 21st, with the participation of Party and State leaders, along with approximately 200 ambassadors and representatives of international organizations in Hanoi . This will be an important highlight, spreading the message of a hospitable Vietnam rich in cultural identity.
Within the framework of the Week, many diverse activities will be organized, such as the National Unity Day (November 18th), creating a space for community activities and interaction among the ethnic groups regularly residing at the "Common House."
The 2nd Muong Ethnic Culture Festival (November 21-23) showcases typical folk art forms, costumes, festivals, and traditional activities of the Muong ethnic group.
A scientific conference themed "Preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities in conjunction with tourism development," held on November 21st, brought together leading scientists, managers, and experts.
In addition, there are programs for diplomatic delegations such as experiencing folk culture and enjoying traditional cuisine, contributing to promoting the image of Vietnam and its people to international friends.
During the Cultural Week, visitors will have the opportunity to explore cultural spaces rich in unique characteristics. such as the heritage of Southern Vietnamese folk music and singing, folk art, and traditional crafts like making My Long rice paper and Son Doc puffed rice cakes; Cham dance performances, introduction to Bau Truc pottery - an intangible cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO; Performances of gong music and folk dances of the Ede, Ba Na, and Gia Rai ethnic groups ; exhibitions of cuisine, handicrafts, and distinctive heritage of the Tay, Nung, Dao, Mong, Muong, Thai, and Kho Mu ethnic groups.
The 2025 "National Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" Week is not only a cultural festival, but also a space for experiencing "living heritage," where visitors can directly access the cultural values of the nation.
This is an opportunity to honor, preserve, and promote Vietnamese cultural identity, while affirming the role of culture in building national unity and promoting the image of Vietnam to international friends.
