On the morning of August 20th, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department - the Standing Agency of the Organizing Committee for major holidays and important historical events in 2024 - held a press conference to provide information on activities commemorating the 70th anniversary of welcoming compatriots, cadres, soldiers, and students from the South who relocated to the North.

The series of activities commemorating the 70th anniversary of welcoming the people, cadres, soldiers, and students from the South who relocated to the North will include five main events: A televised commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Geneva Agreement and the relocation of the ships (1954-2024) will be held at three locations: the Memorial Area for the people and soldiers from the South who relocated to the North in Sam Son City (Thanh Hoa); the Memorial Area for the "No Number" ships, Brigade 125 - Region 2 of the Navy, Cat Lai Ward, Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City); and the National Historical Site of the 1954 relocation to the North in Cao Lanh City (Dong Thap). The event will take place at 6 PM on September 1, 2024. A scientific conference titled "Thanh Hoa with the people, cadres, soldiers, and students from the South who relocated to the North - 70 years of profound affection" is expected to be held at the end of September or beginning of October 2024. The inauguration ceremony for the Memorial Area for the people, cadres, soldiers, and students from the South who relocated to the North in Quang Tien Ward (Sam Son City) is scheduled to be held on October 27, 2024. The ceremony commemorating the 70th anniversary of welcoming the people, cadres, soldiers, and students from the South who relocated to the North in Sam Son City is scheduled to be held at 8 PM on October 27, 2024.

Through this, we aim to propagate and educate cadres, Party members, and the people of the province about patriotism and gratitude to the generations of ancestors who made many sacrifices for the cause of national liberation, building, and defending the Fatherland.
This is a major and important series of events for Thanh Hoa province. Therefore, the Organizing Committee for the commemoration of major holidays and important historical events in Thanh Hoa province hopes that media agencies will grasp this information and develop plans to promote propaganda activities, thereby spreading and deepening the political, social, and humanitarian significance of Thanh Hoa welcoming compatriots, cadres, soldiers, and students from the South who relocated to the North. Through this, we express our deep gratitude to the cadres, soldiers, and students from the South who, without hesitation, sacrificed and endured hardships to study and work in the North, building a socialist North, and preparing forces in all aspects for the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country.
