During the resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, tens of thousands of Hung Yen’s children went to fight and serve in combat. Currently, the Department   Interior   is implementing regular preferential subsidies for over 75 thousand people with meritorious services and relatives of people with meritorious services to the revolution. The province has focused on paying attention to and renovating works honoring martyrs. In addition to the support from the Central Government and the province, communes and wards have mobilized billions of dong from social resources to build new, repair and upgrade works honoring martyrs. Thereby, the works   martyrs   increasingly spacious, cleaner and more beautiful, becoming spiritual and cultural works, expressing the feelings and gratitude of today's generation to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the Fatherland.

According to Ms. Dang Ngoc Hanh, Head of the Department of Meritorious People, Department of Home Affairs, one of the meaningful tasks is to build new and repair gratitude houses for families of people with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of martyrs. At the end of 2024, responding to the call to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide launched by the Prime Minister, the province soon completed the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for people with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of martyrs with a total of 1,529 newly built and repaired houses.

Sharing the joy of settling down in a new house, Mr. Nguyen Manh Dang in Tien Hai commune said: I am receiving allowance for resistance fighters infected with Agent Orange. Due to poor health, I have not been able to do heavy work for many years, and my economic situation is extremely difficult. My family's level 4 house was built a long time ago and is seriously degraded. With the province's support for construction costs, I have a new, solid and safe house.

It can be said that the implementation of preferential policies for people and their families with revolutionary contributions in Hung Yen has achieved good results. People with revolutionary contributions are increasingly better cared for in terms of material and spiritual aspects. The lives of people with revolutionary contributions have been significantly improved.
