This is the first time the Da Nang City Innovation and Entrepreneurship Festival has been held in Hoa Vang district, creating opportunities for startup products from rural youth to be widely promoted and introduced to consumers. |
Within the framework of the Festival, 26 booths displayed local agricultural products, OCOP agricultural products, traditional craft village specialties, and innovative products, startups, and scientific research projects by students that won high awards in competitions. |
According to Mr. Le Cong Hung, Secretary of the Da Nang City Youth Union, the annual Innovation and Entrepreneurship Festival is a playground for union members, young people, students, and university students to connect, interact, and learn about startup models and innovative products; thereby, nurturing innovative startup ideas and models in various fields. |
“This year, the Festival aims to support and promote high-tech agricultural startup products in Da Nang. In the future, with the support of the Department of Science and Technology, the City Youth Union will continue to accompany and support Da Nang youth in developing projects and connecting with investors in entrepreneurship and business establishment,” Mr. Hung said. |
The Da Nang City Youth Union and the Department of Science and Technology visited two agricultural startup models in Hoa Vang district: the Ai Lam sticky rice wine model (Hoa Tien commune) and the Phu Son Village Cooperative model (Hoa Khuong commune). These are two successful youth startup models using OCOP products in the area, creating reputable brands among consumers. |
The organizers also provided support to 10 disadvantaged young people to develop their businesses, with each gift worth 1 million VND. These are all examples of young people who have overcome difficult circumstances and become wealthy in their hometowns. |
| At the stalls, locals enthusiastically shopped for local specialties, agricultural products, and reputable, high-quality OCOP (One Commune One Product) products. |
The distinctive agricultural products of the mountainous communes of Hoa Bac and Hoa Phu, such as vine tea, chicken eggs, various fruits, and wild vegetables, attracted considerable attention from visitors. Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, Secretary of the Hoa Bac Commune Youth Union, said that this was an opportunity for OCOP products and local agricultural products to get closer to the people, find and connect with markets for product consumption. |
On this occasion, the Department of Science and Technology and the Da Nang Youth Union awarded prizes for the "Student Scientific Research" competition in Da Nang City in 2024. This year, the competition attracted more than 800 projects from students of 13 universities, colleges, and research institutes in the area, of which 150 projects participated in the city-level round. |
The organizing committee awarded prizes to the 18 best projects in the competition, including: 2 first prizes, 2 second prizes, 4 third prizes, and 10 consolation prizes. According to Ms. Le Thi Thuc, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang City, for many years, the competition has served as a platform for many ideas and research projects with practical applications. "From here, many scientific articles have been published, many projects have been transferred to agencies and businesses, and it has also served as a foundation for young people to start innovative businesses," Ms. Thuc said. |
The talk show "Entrepreneurship in Agriculture - Opportunities and Challenges" attracted the attention of a large number of youth union members, young people, and students. Through this, young people had the opportunity to exchange ideas with experts and agricultural entrepreneurs to learn about the opportunities that the agricultural sector offers as well as the challenges that need to be overcome. |
