
Attending the ceremony were former National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan; Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son; leaders of central ministries and branches; provinces and cities in the country; more than 50 ambassadors, consuls general, international organizations; many businesses, local people, tourists and more than 80 beauty ambassadors from various countries.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son highly appreciated Lam Dong province and agencies and enterprises for coordinating to organize the 2025 International Tea Festival, with many practical events associated with cultural activities to honor Lam Dong tea producers, processing and trading enterprises and the tea industry of the whole country.



The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that Vietnam has a long cultural history of tea production and consumption. Currently, tea is one of the country's key agricultural products, the Vietnamese tea industry has a solid position in the world, and its products are exported to more than 70 countries. In particular, Lam Dong is one of the localities with the leading potential in the country, with many good models, good and creative ways in developing the tea industry value chain.

In order for the Vietnamese tea industry to develop sustainably in a green, clean, high-quality and high-value direction, the Deputy Prime Minister requested central ministries and localities, including Lam Dong province, to promote the restructuring of the tea industry, towards large-scale production, value chain linkage, application of high technology, deep processing, product diversification to meet international standards; exploit the values of the tea industry associated with culture, tourism and services; focus on building and developing strong brands of the Vietnamese tea industry.

At the same time, we hope that international partners will continue to expand investment and business cooperation, applying high technology to help Lam Dong and Vietnam tea industry develop and expand the market, with the spirit of harmonious benefits and shared risks.

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son believes that with the proactiveness, creativity, desire for innovation and determination to rise up of localities, businesses and each person of Lam Dong as well as in the whole country, Vietnamese agricultural products in general and Vietnamese tea products in particular will affirm their quality, high reputation, strong brand, and a solid position in the regional and world markets; and be the pride of the beautiful country of Vietnam.

VietKings organization announced 4 new Vietnamese records, including: the 1927 ancient tea factory in Bao Loc, one of the oldest tea processing facilities still existing in Vietnam; the organization unit of the International Tea Festival with the largest chain of cultural, economic and diplomatic activities; the performance "Thanh Tam Tra Dance" with 1,111 tea ladies making and offering tea in the "Vietnamese Tea Ceremony" style with the largest number at one location and the festival with the most beauty queens and beauty representatives of Miss Cosmo from participating countries.

The Vietnam UNESCO Association and the Japan UNESCO Association awarded the certificate of Intangible Cultural Heritage Practice to Lam Dong Tea Joint Stock Company, thanks to its efforts to gather the practice community and spread tea knowledge on an unprecedented scale. At the same time, the UNESCO cultural brand Doi Dep was also awarded, in recognition of its contribution to preserving and promoting Vietnamese tea culture and connecting the international community towards peace and sustainable development.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Dinh Van Tuan emphasized that Lam Dong tea, stretching from Cau Dat through Di Linh to Bao Loc, is the pride of the province and is on par with many famous domestic and international teas.

The festival is an opportunity for Lam Dong province and tea production and trading enterprises to introduce their unique tea products and culture to domestic and international friends; it is a bridge to strengthen international cooperation relationships. We are here not only to enjoy the taste of premium tea, but also to continue the story of cultural exchange, people-to-people diplomacy and development cooperation.


The opening ceremony featured a special art program, bringing together Vietnam's leading contemporary singers and artists, attracting a large number of locals and tourists.


With the theme "Connecting the quintessence of tea of humanity", within the framework of the 2025 International Tea Festival held for the first time in Vietnam, events will take place such as the international tea exhibition fair, the summit on sustainable development of the tea industry, the tea concert, the diplomatic tea program, the street festival and the tea cultural space...


The highlight was the performance of making and offering tea in the "Vietnamese Tea Ceremony" style by 1,111 tea farmers, the presence of 1,000 ancient tea trees over 100 years old and 80 Miss Cosmo beauties from countries famous for tea.

World Tea Fest 2025 runs until December 7.
