Tuyen Quang province has just issued the Plan "Preserving and promoting traditional cultural values of ethnic groups in educational institutions in the province, period 2025 - 2030", aiming to strengthen education on local cultural identity, contributing to improving the quality of comprehensive education and building a school environment rich in humanity and imbued with national identity in the area.
Accordingly, Tuyen Quang province aims to raise awareness among managers, teachers, students and the community about the role and significance of traditional culture of ethnic groups; considering this an important foundation to foster pride, awareness of preserving identity, and strengthening the great solidarity of ethnic groups.
Specifically, by 2030, 100% of general education and continuing education facilities in the province will effectively maintain traditional cultural education activities; each school will build a "national cultural space" to display artifacts, musical instruments, costumes, images, folk songs, folk dances, folk games and typical local cultural products.
Educational institutions promote the collection and exploitation of traditional cultural values, arts, and folk games of local ethnic groups. Every year, schools will include 5-10 folk games, folk songs, folk dances, or traditional cultural activities in extracurricular programs and group activities to help students have the opportunity to access and learn in a visual and vivid way.
The plan also emphasizes organizing training and fostering for management staff and teachers on methods of integrating traditional cultural content into subjects, experiential activities and career guidance; focusing on training skills in organizing folk games, club activities, as well as cultural and artistic activities in schools.
At the same time, encourage the opening of training and teaching classes directly instructed by folk artists and prestigious people in the community, thereby strengthening the connection between the school and the community.
The contents of traditional culture education, local history and national cultural heritage will be integrated into the general education program and experiential activities according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training .
Educational institutions are encouraged to increase the application of information technology, social networks and modern media to introduce and disseminate typical activities and models.
Folklore, folk song and folk dance clubs in schools will continue to be maintained and developed; exchange and performance activities will be periodically organized to create a healthy playground, contributing to spreading the movement to preserve and promote national cultural identity among students.
The highlight of the Plan is the organization of the Provincial Folk Song and Dance Festival for high school students in 2027 and 2030, encouraging schools, communes and wards to organize annual grassroots festivals and competitions.
Along with that, organize conferences, seminars, talks, and specialized forums to share experiences, replicate good models, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process; commend and reward collectives, individuals, and artisans with outstanding achievements in preserving and promoting traditional culture in schools.
The implementation roadmap is built for each year in the period 2025 - 2030, associated with workshops, training, building national cultural spaces, organizing folk song and dance festivals, mid-term and final reviews; on that basis, evaluate results, draw experiences, propose directions, tasks and solutions for the next period.
