Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Ha Van Sieu said that over the past years, the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism have signed strategic cooperation agreements in the fields of culture and tourism.

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism has also signed a memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation with six Chinese localities: Macau, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Sichuan and Chongqing. Guangxi, with its magnificent natural beauty, long-standing cultural heritage and unique cuisine , is always an ideal destination for Vietnamese tourists who want to explore and experience cultural diversity.

In 2023, Vietnam welcomed more than 1.7 million Chinese visitors, recovering 30% compared to 2019. In the first 4 months of 2024, Vietnam welcomed nearly 1.25 million Chinese visitors, recovering more than 73% compared to the same period in 2019. Vietnam also sent many tourist groups to China.

The number of visitors between the two sides has recovered significantly in recent times, but is still not commensurate with the friendship and good relations between the two sides. However, the potential for tourism development of both sides is still very large and needs to be further exploited.

“The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism is committed to continuing to promote cooperation and cultural tourism exchanges between Vietnam and Guangxi province in particular, as well as China in general, to promote sustainable development for the tourism industry in the future,” Mr. Sieu affirmed.

At the event, along with introducing tea culture and unique destinations of Guangxi, delegates and Vietnamese travel agencies were able to attend the tea culture space, photo exhibition on tea culture, and consult about attractive tours and tourist routes in Guangxi.
