The People's Committee of Quoi Thien commune, Vinh Long province has actively coordinated with functional agencies and people to deploy solutions to overcome the landslide situation in the Thanh Long islet dike area.

Previously, a 20m long section of the dike collapsed, located about 50m downstream from the previous landslide. The landslide affected many households and 15 hectares of fruit trees, including causing part of a household's house to collapse, digging deep into the foundation, showing signs of continued subsidence. The landslide is located in the 225m area that has been declared an emergency landslide situation by the Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee.

Immediately after the landslide, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Vinh Long province and local authorities quickly came to survey, visit and encourage affected households, and at the same time implemented the "4 on-site" motto, mobilizing forces and machinery to temporarily reinforce the broken dike location to minimize damage and stabilize life in the area. The Commune People's Committee coordinated to move people's assets to a safe place, continued to promptly inform about the landslide and hydrometeorological situation so that people could proactively coordinate in response, regularly monitor the safety of the dike to have timely handling measures.
