On March 27, speaking to reporters of the Economic and Urban Newspaper, Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh - Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism said that in the first 3 months of the year, international flights to some traditional markets of China and Russia began to recover and are developing. This is a positive signal for Khanh Hoa tourism industry and is the basis for the industry to complete the goal of welcoming 3 million international visitors this year.
“Currently, there are about 17-20 flights per day from Korea to Cam Ranh, 16 flights from China to Cam Ranh, and 5-7 flights per week from Thailand, Kazakhstan, and Malaysia… These are positive signals for the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism market,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh.
In the first quarter of 2024, the total number of visitors served by tourist accommodation establishments is estimated at more than 2.1 million, 2.7 times higher than the same period in 2023. Of which, international visitors reached more than 1.2 million, 5.2 times higher than the same period; domestic visitors reached 942,340, 1.7 times higher than the same period. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at VND 11,608.8 billion, 2.6 times higher than the same period.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, in 2023 and the first months of 2024, Korean visitors to Khanh Hoa will increase sharply and become the locality's largest international tourist market.
Notably, Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa has welcomed many Korean artists and stars to visit and relax. Recently, the appearance of star actors such as Uhm Jung Hwa, Kim Byung Chul, Myung Se Bin, the cast of Doctor Cha; Park Min Young, Na In Woo, Lee Yi Kyung in Marry My Husband… is an opportunity to promote Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa tourism to Korean tourists in particular and international tourists in general.
"In 2024, the locality will continue to have many activities to promote and expand the Korean tourist market. It is expected that in the summer of 2024, Khanh Hoa will organize a working group to promote investment and tourism in Korea. The Department of Tourism and the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association also plan to invite famtrip groups of Korean travel agencies to survey Khanh Hoa tourism," Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh added.
Commenting on the Korean tourist market, Mr. Tran Minh Anh - Deputy Director of Vietnam Natural Company Limited (VuongLand Travel) said that the number of Korean tourists coming to Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa has contributed to the development of the local tourism industry; food, shopping, transportation services... have also increased.
“Koreans are a group of picky customers and they often use online travel web applications to evaluate destinations, service, food quality, etc., and local security and order. In my opinion, to retain this group of customers, we need to ensure service quality and avoid products being priced incorrectly. Businesses operating in the tourism sector and tour guides also need to coordinate with state management agencies to do a better job of security and order…”, Mr. Tran Minh Anh shared.
