In March 2024, Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group ( VNPT ) successfully won the auction of the C2 frequency block (3700MHz - 3800MHz) for 5G. Winning the auction of the C2 frequency block allows VNPT to have many network equipment options, reasonable 5G network deployment costs, meeting the strategy of deploying the highest speed 5G network in Vietnam, providing customers with super-speed and multi-application 5G experiences.
After being licensed, VNPT Group has urgently deployed the installation of infrastructure and VinaPhone 5G transmission stations nationwide. Currently, many provinces and cities across the country have VinaPhone 5G signals. According to the plan, by the end of 2024, VNPT will complete the installation of over 3,000 VinaPhone 5G transmission stations to ensure strong, stable and continuous coverage, especially in urban areas and major economic centers nationwide.
VinaPhone 5G not only provides access speeds up to 10 times faster than 4G but also minimizes latency, allowing users to enjoy smooth video viewing, lag-free online gaming, and high-performance smart applications. VinaPhone 5G also opens up opportunities to bring many automation, automatic monitoring/control, and smart management applications to businesses, factories, seaports, medical applications, distanceeducation , etc. in Vietnam.
In particular, from October 13 to November 15, 2024, VinaPhone customers who already have a 5G phone will be able to participate in the free super-fast 5G experience program (50GB of data, valid for 30 days). When operating in areas with 5G coverage, VinaPhone subscribers will receive a notification message inviting them to experience the free service.
In addition, to welcome VinaPhone 5G, from now until the end of November 2024, VinaPhone will organize a series of music events "Sound Freedom by VinaPhone" in the provinces: Thanh Hoa, Binh Duong, Gia Lai, Kien Giang, Can Tho, Ca Mau. Coming to the series of music events, customers and young people will not only be immersed in a vibrant music party but also experience the super-fast VinaPhone 5G directly. The series of events welcoming VinaPhone 5G will also be broadcast live on digital platforms, the MyTV television system and a number of local television channels.
In recent times, with the desire to improve customer experience, VNPT Group has continuously invested in improving service quality and optimizing the VinaPhone mobile network system. According to the measurement results of the i-Speed Internet access speed measurement system by the Vietnam Internet Center (VNNIC) in August and September 2024, VinaPhone continuously leads in Internet speed and is the network operator with the fastest mobile Internet speed in Vietnam.
