Different from the hustle and bustle of the city, the opening ceremony in this remote area has a simple, rustic beauty but contains extremely precious values. There, the gifts are not only material but also emotional.

The 2025-2026 school year opens with new hopes. Hundreds of highland students dressed in colorful traditional costumes, eager to return to school after a long summer vacation.

At Ngoc Linh Primary Boarding School, 387 students from 15 classes are ready for their journey to conquer letters. Of these, grade 1 has the largest number, with 85 students.

Mr. Nguyen Tran Vy, Vice Principal of Ngoc Linh Primary Boarding School, could not hide his joy and pride when seeing the children grow up after a summer. He said that in the new school year, the school has 32 staff members, teachers and employees, of which 25 are direct teachers, most of whom have met the training standards, many of whom are excellent teachers at the school and district levels.

Attending the opening ceremony at Ngoc Linh Primary Boarding School, Mr. Tran Nam Hung, Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee, on behalf of the city government, presented the school with 5 laptops for teachers to use in teaching in the new school year.

At Tra Nam Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, 341 students (including 202 primary school students and 139 secondary school students) also gathered in full.

Mr. Vo Dang Chin, the school's principal, said that the teaching staff has been trained in modern teaching methods such as STEM integration and artificial intelligence (AI) applications, and is ready to bring useful and interesting lessons to the students. All are aimed at a common goal of ensuring that letters will be "sown" in every village, helping the children have a brighter future.

Not far away, Nam Tra My Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities also welcomed 329 students, including 105 new students entering grade 9. More than 95% of the students are children of ethnic minorities.

Over the years, the school has always fulfilled its teaching and learning tasks well, meeting the requirements of educational innovation according to the current program.

Attending the opening ceremony, Mr. Le Tri Thanh, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City, acknowledged and praised the efforts of the school. He hoped that teachers and students would continue to promote the tradition of studiousness and creativity to improve the quality of human resources for the locality.

Amidst the bustling atmosphere of the opening day, the story of special gifts that highland students gave to their parents and teachers became an emotional highlight.

These are not expensive or luxurious items, but simple, rustic items, containing the students' hearts.

Mr. Nguyen Tran Vy said that on the first day of the new school year, parents and students of class 1A brought bundles of green wild vegetables or bamboo shoots that had just been dug up from the mountains to give to teachers. Those simple gifts, which the children themselves had followed their parents to the fields and into the forest to find, became priceless gifts.

"Over the years, the school has organized accommodation for parents who come with their children to school. Mostly the elderly, who follow their children on their first days at school and then stay, along with the teachers in the school, to take care of their children's meals and sleep. Some cook rice, some pick vegetables... and together live in love in this difficult time," Mr. Chin shared.
