The preliminary round featured 146 entries (97 Robusta and 49 Arabica samples) from renowned coffee-growing regions such as Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Gia Lai, Dak Nong, Kon Tum , Quang Tri, and Son La… These are representative coffee samples that have been meticulously selected, reflecting the serious efforts of growers, processors, and participating units nationwide.

Over the course of four days (April 20-23), the entries will be judged according to a rigorous, internationally standardized evaluation process by a prestigious panel of domestic and international judges, Q. Graders experts, and influential figures in the coffee industry.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association Trinh Duc Minh emphasized: The preliminary round is a crucial stage in selecting the best coffee samples that qualify to advance to the final round, which will take place on April 24th and 25th.
All processes, from sample coding, physical evaluation, roasting, tasting, data recording to result processing, are conducted rigorously, transparently, scientifically , and in accordance with international standards.
The association believes that this not only ensures fairness for all participating units but also contributes to affirming the increasing prestige and quality of the Vietnamese coffee industry.

According to the competition organizers' plan, the announcement and awarding ceremony for the Top 10 best coffee samples will take place on the afternoon of April 27th. Simultaneously, a community tasting session will be held for coffee samples that meet the Vietnamese Specialty Coffee 2025 standards, aiming to select the most popular samples for awards.
