Opening of the qualifying round of the Vietnam Specialty Coffee Competition 2025

Participating in the preliminary round were 146 samples (97 Robusta samples and 49 Arabica samples) from famous coffee growing regions such as: Dak Lak , Lam Dong, Gia Lai, Dak Nong, Kon Tum, Quang Tri and Son La... These are typical coffee samples that were carefully selected, demonstrating the serious efforts of growers, processors and participating units across the country.

Chairman of Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association Trinh Duc Minh delivered the opening speech of the competition.

During 4 days (from April 20 to 23), the contest samples will be scored according to a rigorous evaluation process, meeting international standards by a prestigious domestic and international jury, Q. Graders experts and influential people in the coffee industry.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association Trinh Duc Minh emphasized: The preliminary round is an important stage to select the best coffee samples, qualified to move on to the final round which will take place on April 24 and 25.

All processes from sample coding, physical assessment, roasting, tasting, data recording to result processing are conducted seriously, transparently, scientifically and in accordance with international standards.

The Association believes that this not only ensures fairness for all contestants but also contributes to affirming the prestige and increasing quality of the Vietnamese coffee industry.

The competition jury proceeded to judge the qualifying round samples.

It is known that according to the plan of the Organizing Committee of the competition, the Announcement and Award Ceremony of the Top 10 best coffee samples will take place on the afternoon of April 27, at the same time, there will be a community tasting session of coffee samples that meet the standards of Vietnamese specialty coffee 2025, to select the most favorite coffee samples to award.
