Viewers are tired of Huyền Lizzie's expressions.
In recent days, the second part of the film "Us of Eight Years Later" has been a controversial topic on social media. The replacement of four young, well-liked actors with a familiar cast has not only made it difficult for viewers to adapt but has also received a lot of mixed reactions. This is especially true for the character Mai Dương, played by Huyền Lizzie.
From a radiant girl who captivated others with her sunny smile, Mai Duong, played by Huyen Lizzie, becomes dissatisfied with life, even constantly irritable and blaming those around her.
In particular, many viewers complained, even became annoyed, by the way Huyen Lizzie pursed her lips, blew on her face, and smirked. Numerous comments suggested that the actress could have used other ways to express indifference and apathy instead of smirking in scenes where it was unnecessary.
Many viewers complained about the smirking, unpleasant expression of the character Mai Dương, played by Huyền Lizzie.
"I'm not criticizing the film. But I don't like the way Huyen Lizzie portrays the character Duong. I feel like in Duong's eyes, everyone is worth looking down on"; "Part 1 was captivating, I was looking forward to each episode. Part 2 is boring, I don't even want to watch it anymore, the main actress has such a condescending attitude, always smirking"; Up to this point, I haven't criticized Minh Huyen in any other film except this one, "Can Huyen Lizzie please get rid of that smirk? Watching the film is so tiring..."
The above comments are just a few of the hundreds of comments from netizens expressing the audience's weariness with Huyền Lizzie's character, Mai Dương, and the film's director. They argue that Mai Dương may have gone through countless hardships in life, but that doesn't mean she should always be irritable, dissatisfied with life, and resentful of the whole world .

The close friendship between Duong and Nguyet crumbled because of money.
Regarding the subsequent developments in the series, episode 22 of "We Eight Years Later" reveals a scene where Mai Duong's annoyance becomes unbearable for Nguyet (Quynh Kool). Specifically, after learning that Tung (B Tran) is dissatisfied because his wife is always preoccupied with her best friend and neglecting the family, Duong sulks at her best friend and sends Nguyet home.
Duong didn't want Nguyet to interfere in her life anymore to avoid causing her friend embarrassment. However, Duong's attitude deeply hurt Nguyet. She said, "Not causing me embarrassment? So it's all my fault? Do you know what it feels like to be caught in the middle, Duong?"
In response, Duong said, "It's not anyone's fault, but as I said, you don't need to get so worked up, it's pointless!" Faced with these dismissive words, Nguyet declared that from now on, they would each mind their own business and live their own lives.
Nguyet and Duong's friendship is on the verge of breaking up.
In another development, after a tense conversation with his daughter, Mr. Quang went to Duong's house again and expressed his desire to move in with her.
Also in episode 22 of "We Eight Years Later," Lam (Manh Truong) meets with Nguyet to talk about Duong's condition. Lam worries that if he doesn't lift Duong's spirits, she will spiral into a careless, resigned, and negative lifestyle…
Can Lam and Nguyet help Duong change? Will Duong accept living with Mr. Quang? The answers will be revealed in the upcoming episodes of "Our 8 Years Later," airing at 9:40 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays on VTV3.
