At 11 PM on February 22nd, at Beta Cinemas (Tran Quang Khai Street, District 1) - one of the first venues in Ho Chi Minh City to have an additional screening of the film "Peach, Pho and Piano" - tickets sold out completely.

Some viewers who couldn't buy tickets online went directly to the theater to purchase tickets for the film "Peach, Pho and Piano" for the extra midnight screenings at 11:35 PM or 11:59 PM. However, they all left disappointed.

According to the ticket counter staff, all tickets for the 11:35 PM screening have been sold out. The staff member also added that screenings on the following days, February 23rd, 24th, and 25th, are also sold out. Audiences who wish to see the film can wait for the next schedule, which will be updated next week.

Mr. Ngoc Le (office worker, District 10) expressed his disappointment at being unable to buy tickets to see the movie "Peach, Pho and Piano" despite visiting 2 or 3 cinemas in Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking to reporters, he said that as soon as he heard the film was being screened in Ho Chi Minh City, he immediately went to the Beta and Cinestar app to buy tickets, but the system kept reporting errors and he received a message that he had to buy tickets at the theater.

Because it was during office hours, he could only go to the cinemas to buy tickets after 6 PM. However, all the early screenings were sold out, and the staff informed him to check for additional screenings. As soon as he received the announcement that there would be additional screenings at 11:35 PM and 11:59 PM, he went to the cinema around 11 PM to buy tickets, but he was still unsuccessful.

Young audience member Huyen Thu (a second-year student at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy) said that she arrived at the theater at 9 PM to buy tickets but could only get the last two seats in row B and had to wait until 11:35 PM to watch the movie.

"I went to see the movie after reading reviews online. I was also quite curious and particularly interested in history, so I took the time to go see it," this audience member further shared.

In Ho Chi Minh City, besides Beta Cinema, Cinestar also sells tickets for the film "Peach, Pho and Piano". However, on the evening of February 22nd, there will only be one screening at 11:40 PM at Cinestar Quoc Thanh (Nguyen Trai Street, District 5).

At Quoc Thanh cinema, tickets also sold out, so an additional screening was added at 11:59 PM.

Over the past few days, the film "Peach, Pho, and Piano" has unexpectedly become a sensation on social media; however, only a few viewers have had the chance to see it because upon its release, the film was only screened at the National Film Center.

After the National Film Center's website crashed, the center opted for direct ticket sales, which still attracted a large audience. The center then continuously increased the number of screenings and extended the film's running time.

On February 20th, two private companies, Beta Media and Cinestar, agreed to release the film "Peach, Pho and Piano" and remit all revenue to the State.

And on the first day of ticket sales, these two companies received a warm welcome from the audience in Ho Chi Minh City.

"Peach, Pho, and Piano" is an unprecedented box office phenomenon in Vietnamese cinema. The state-commissioned film has garnered widespread public attention and generated significant media buzz. As of the morning of February 22nd, "Peach, Pho, and Piano" had surpassed 1 billion VND in revenue (according to Box Office Vietnam).

The film premiered at the National Film Center on February 10, 2024 (the first day of the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon 2024) with 3 screenings per day. Due to a sudden surge in audience demand, the number of screenings increased to 18 per day by February 20, but this was still insufficient to meet audience needs.

In response to this situation, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has instructed the Cinema Department to work with distribution units and encourage film studios to popularize Vietnamese-produced films, including those funded by the state budget.

"Peach, Pho, and Piano" is a feature film directed by Phi Tien Son, commissioned by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Film Department, and produced by Film Production Company I.

The film tells the love story of a self-defense fighter (played by Doan Quoc Dam) and a wealthy young woman from Hanoi (played by Cao Thuy Linh). The film also features renowned actors such as People's Artist Trung Hieu, director Tran Luc, actor Anh Tuan, and singer Tuan Hung...
