Da Nang's Aspiration: Shining on the global integration map

Da Nang is transforming strongly, from a “livable city” to a new international integration center of Vietnam – a destination for cooperation, innovation and sustainable development.

In nearly three decades of development, Da Nang has established itself as the most dynamic, modern and livable city in the country. Now, the city is aiming for new heights – becoming an international integration center, a financial center and a free trade zone of the Central region and Vietnam.

During the 2021-2025 period, Da Nang expanded relations with 60 localities in 24 countries, signed more than 120 cooperation agreements and welcomed more than 3,000 international delegations, including many high-ranking delegations. Economic diplomacy played a “leverage” role when the city attracted nearly 800 foreign direct investment projects with a total capital of more than 1 billion USD, bringing import-export turnover to 41 billion USD.

According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Binh, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Da Nang, the city's goal is to "continue to affirm its role as an economic - cultural center, a growth pole and an integration hub of the whole country".

Along with that, Da Nang puts people at the center, each citizen is an “integration ambassador” – friendly, dynamic and creative. With the accompaniment of the international community and support from the central government, Da Nang is gradually realizing the aspiration of becoming a “gateway” to international integration, contributing to affirming Vietnam’s position in the region and on the global stage./.
