Over nearly three decades of development, Da Nang has established itself as one of the most dynamic, modern, and livable cities in the country. Now, the city aims for new heights – becoming a center for international integration, a financial center, and a free trade zone for Central Vietnam and the entire country.
During the period 2021–2025, Da Nang expanded its relations with 60 localities in 24 countries, signed more than 120 cooperation agreements, and welcomed over 3,000 international delegations, including many high-level delegations. Economic diplomacy played a "leveraging" role as the city attracted nearly 800 foreign direct investment projects with a total capital of over US$1 billion, bringing import and export turnover to US$41 billion.
According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Binh, Director of the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs, the city's goal is to "continue to affirm its role as an economic and cultural center, a growth pole, and a center for integration of the whole country."
Furthermore, Da Nang places people at the center, with each citizen acting as an "ambassador of integration"—friendly, dynamic, and creative. With the support of the international community and assistance from the central government, Da Nang is gradually realizing its aspiration to become a "gateway" to international integration, contributing to affirming Vietnam's position in the region and globally.
