
On the morning of January 18th, in Thai Nguyen, the Vietnam Journalists Association, in coordination with the People's Committee of Dai Tu district, solemnly held the groundbreaking ceremony for the restoration and renovation of the historical site of the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism Training School.
Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were Mr. Dang Xuan Truong - Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province; Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi - Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association; and other guests including leaders of departments and units of the Vietnam Journalists Association, representatives of departments and agencies of Thai Nguyen province, the People's Committee of Dai Tu district, Tan Thai commune, the Vietnam Press Museum, and the Management Board of the Huynh Thuc Khang School of Journalism.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Duc Loi - Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association - said that in 1949, amidst the fierce resistance war against the French, recognizing the special role of revolutionary journalists - a crucial vanguard force - under the direction of President Ho Chi Minh , the General Headquarters of the Viet Minh opened the Huynh Thuc Khang School of Journalism to train quality human resources for the press. The opening ceremony of the first course of the Huynh Thuc Khang School of Journalism took place on April 4, 1949.
"The establishment of the Huynh Thuc Khang School of Journalism marks a special milestone associated with the glorious journalistic journey under the guidance of President Ho Chi Minh - the first teacher of revolutionary journalism, the outstanding leader of our nation," Comrade Nguyen Duc Loi emphasized.

According to the Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, in order to commemorate a historical event about the pioneering generation of resistance journalists who dedicated their lives to the goal of "All for victory," contributing to the glorious tradition and vitality of revolutionary journalism in our country, based on the records, documents, and artifacts meticulously collected and prepared by the Vietnam Journalism Museum, with the high determination of the leaders of the Vietnam Journalists Association, the attention of the Party committees, government and people of Thai Nguyen province and the cultural sector, the historical site where the Huynh Thuc Khang School of Journalism was held has been demarcated for protection and recognized as a national historical site by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2019, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the school's founding.

Comrade Nguyen Duc Loi stated that, with the desire to continue preserving and promoting the historical value and significance of the site, leading up to the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Huynh Thuc Khang School of Journalism (April 4, 1949 - April 4, 2024) and the 100th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), the Vietnam Press Museum has been directed by the Vietnam Journalists Association to develop a project to restore and renovate the site where the Huynh Thuc Khang School of Journalism was founded. The project, entrusted by the leaders and departments of Thai Nguyen province, has been entrusted with the responsibility of being the project's investor.
"Thanks to this, the initial preparatory work has been completed, and today we are pleased to be here with you to solemnly hold the groundbreaking ceremony to begin the construction of the project," Comrade Nguyen Duc Loi expressed.

Mr. Do Chi Thanh, Deputy General Director of Vietnam National Petroleum Group, presented a symbolic gift to the representative of Dai Tu district leadership.
Affirming that the Huynh Thuc Khang School of Journalism is an important historical site within the entire system of revolutionary historical sites related to President Ho Chi Minh, the Central Committee, the Government, the Viet Bac war zone, and the revolutionary Vietnamese press, Comrade Nguyen Nam Tien - Acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Dai Tu District - shared that countless revolutionary fighters on the cultural front have grown up here, making important contributions to the glorious revolutionary cause of the nation.

"In the not-too-distant future, with the status of the National Historical Monument and the formation and development of the Ho Nui Coc National Tourist Area in Tan Thai commune, Dai Tu district, a harmonious whole of culture and tourism will be created," Comrade Nguyen Nam Tien expressed his confidence.
At the same time, Comrade Nguyen Nam Tien requested that all levels, sectors, localities, and the people create the most favorable conditions for the project to be completed on schedule.
At the ceremony, the Vietnam National Petroleum Corporation - the project's sponsor - presented 900 gifts worth a total of 500 million VND to disadvantaged families in Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen province.
