Compared to its predecessor, the new 2027 Kia Seltos boasts significantly increased dimensions, with a length increase of 95 mm, a width increase of 20 mm, a height increase of 15 mm, and a wheelbase extension of 80 mm. Thanks to the use of the all-new K3 global platform, luggage compartment capacity has also increased by 14 liters. This is coupled with a new, more impressive design language. From the first glance, the new Seltos makes a strong impression with its bold front end. Kia didn't simply refine the old design, but instead completely revamped it: a wider grille, a higher hood, and an upright nose, reminiscent of the Kia Telluride in the international market.
The vertically positioned LED daytime running lights are offset outwards, combined with the C-shaped headlight cluster and cascading light bars to create a sharp and robust appearance. The rear of the vehicle has been refreshed with an extended LED light strip, a sharper rear bumper design, and new turn signals, giving the SUV a more imposing look. It also features 18-inch alloy wheels, retractable automatic door handles, new projector headlights, LED fog lights, a retractable rear wiper, roof rails, and a panoramic sunroof. The interior has also been significantly upgraded with a more minimalist and upscale style. The old dashboard has been replaced with a single curved screen, integrating the digital clock and entertainment system in a seamless glass panel. The cabin materials have been upgraded with softer details, premium textures, and refined stitching. The GT-Line version features a two-tone interior, a new climate control system, metal pedals, a flat-bottomed steering wheel with integrated buttons, and more convenient storage compartments.
In terms of performance, the new Seltos retains the familiar three engine options: a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine (115 hp, 144 Nm), a 1.5L turbocharged engine (160 hp, 253 Nm), and a 1.5L diesel engine (116 hp, 250 Nm). Transmission options include a manual, iMT, IVT (Independent Variable Transmission), or 6-speed automatic. In some international markets, all-wheel drive and a 1.6L hybrid version will also be available. Interior highlights include dual 30-inch curved screens, a steering wheel inspired by the Kia EV6, and a two-tone black and white interior. The car features wireless charging, USB-C ports for both rows of seats, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 10-way power adjustable driver's seat with memory function, ventilated front seats, rear seat sunshades, and a 64-color ambient interior lighting system.
The rear seats feature three adjustable headrests, reclining backrests, and a 60:40 split-folding configuration. The vehicle also comes equipped with a 360-degree camera and a premium safety package with 24 standard features, including six airbags, ESP electronic stability control, TCS traction control, and Level 2 ADAS driver assistance system. In terms of connectivity, the new Kia Seltos supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, smart keyless entry, and the Kia Connect 2.0 system with 91 connectivity features – including remote operation and real-time vehicle diagnostics. Production of the second-generation Seltos will begin later this year, before the car officially goes on sale in India. Kia will then roll it out in South Korea, North America, Europe, and China throughout 2026. The US version is expected to be sold under the Seltos 2027 name.
