The document states that, based on recent observations, large numbers of trucks carrying sand and ore have been seen circulating on national and provincial roads. In particular, the practice of allowing sand trucks to carry water and sand onto the road surface, causing slippery conditions, rapid damage, and posing a potential traffic safety hazard and environmental pollution, has caused public concern.

To manage and address the aforementioned situation, the Department of Transport requests that management and maintenance units review the traffic volume of sand-carrying vehicles on national and provincial roads. Assess the condition of the road surface and bridge and culvert structures on the sand-carrying vehicle lanes, and report the results to the Department of Transport before July 15, 2024.

The management and maintenance units regularly monitor the traffic flow of trucks on the roads. When there is a sudden increase in the number of cargo trucks, they must organize a vehicle count and immediately report to the Department of Transport and the Quang Nam Infrastructure Management Center for monitoring.

The Department of Transport requests the Quang Nam Transport Infrastructure Management Center to monitor and urge the management and maintenance units to regularly implement the above-mentioned directives.

The head of the Department of Transport said that he has also directed the Department's Inspectorate to strengthen patrols and strictly handle violations to protect state property and ensure traffic safety.
