In particular, the situation of sand trucks letting water flow and sand fall onto the road surface makes the road surface slippery, quickly damaged, potentially causing traffic safety and environmental pollution, causing public outrage.

To manage and take measures to handle and control the above situation, the Department of Transport requires management and maintenance units to review the traffic volume of sand trucks on national and provincial highways. Assess the condition of the road surface, bridges and culverts on the sand truck lane, and report the results to the Department of Transport before July 15, 2024.

Management and maintenance units regularly monitor the traffic of trucks on the road. When there is a sudden increase in the number of freight vehicles, they must count the vehicles and immediately report to the Department of Transport and the Quang Nam Traffic Infrastructure Management Center for monitoring.

The Department of Transport requests the Quang Nam Traffic Infrastructure Management Center to monitor and urge management and maintenance units to regularly implement the above instructions.

The leader of the Department of Transport said that he also directed the Department of Transport Inspectorate to increase patrols and controls, strictly handle violations to protect state assets and ensure traffic safety.
