On April 8, the inspection team conducted a surprise inspection of food safety and hygiene at Vinh Hiep Primary School (Nha Trang City).

The team inspected the area in front of the school gate and the school's communal kitchen.

Through inspection, the delegation noted that this school organizes a collective kitchen for students (more than 500 meals/day) ensuring good food hygiene and safety.

At the same time, it was noted that there was no street food or sidewalk food selling around the school area.

The inspection team requested Vinh Hiep Primary School to maintain the process of organizing a collective kitchen and not be subjective or negligent in ensuring food safety and hygiene.

In addition, schools need to continuously inspect food suppliers to ensure student safety. When food is sold outside the school gate, it is necessary to immediately report to local authorities for handling.

In particular, in case of suspected food poisoning, the school must immediately report to the People's Committee at all levels for timely handling.

On the same day, Khanh Hoa province announced the decision to establish an interdisciplinary inspection team on food safety in the province in 2024.

Accordingly, the interdisciplinary inspection team includes: Food Safety and Hygiene Department, Khanh Hoa Testing Center, representatives of the Market Management Department and Khanh Hoa Provincial Police...

The inspection and examination content "focuses on product quality, safety, expiry date, origin of raw materials, food products, announcement of product standards, product labeling, raw materials, additives used for food production and processing, food production conditions and food advertising".
