On April 8th, the inspection team conducted a surprise inspection of food safety and hygiene practices at Vinh Hiep Primary School (Nha Trang City).
The inspection team conducted an on-site inspection of the area in front of the school gate and the school's cafeteria.
During the inspection, the team noted that the school's collective canteen for students (providing over 500 meals per day) ensures good food safety and hygiene.
At the same time, it was noted that there was no street food vending around the school area.
The inspection team requested that Vinh Hiep Primary School maintain the procedures for organizing the school's canteen, and not be complacent or negligent in ensuring food safety and hygiene.
In addition, schools need to continuously inspect food suppliers to ensure the safety of students. If food is found being sold by street vendors outside the school gates, the local authorities should be notified immediately for appropriate action.
In particular, if students are suspected of food poisoning, the school must immediately report it to the People's Committee at all levels for timely action.
On the same day, Khanh Hoa province announced the decision to establish an inter-agency inspection team on food safety in the province for 2024.
Accordingly, the inter-agency inspection team included: the Food Safety and Hygiene Sub-Department, the Khanh Hoa Testing Center, representatives from the Market Management Department and the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police...
The inspection and examination content "focuses on product quality and safety, expiration dates, origin of raw materials, food products, product standard declarations, product labeling, raw materials and additives used in food production and processing, food production conditions, and food advertising."
