In that situation, on August 31, 2025, the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province issued Decision No. 2952/QD-UBND declaring a natural disaster emergency to mobilize resources and stabilize people's lives soon. Implementing the direction of the province, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC), on September 5, 2025, Director of Thanh Hoa Power Company (PC Thanh Hoa) Hoang Hai and the working group went directly to Yen Nhan and Bat Mot communes to inspect and assess the extent of damage as well as the work to repair the damaged power grid system caused by storm No. 5.

In order for the construction investment projects to be effective, the Company has sent documents to all communes and wards in the province. PC Thanh Hoa hopes to continue to receive the cooperation of authorities at all levels, especially in planning and allocating land for power projects, speeding up site clearance as well as strengthening propaganda so that people strictly comply with regulations on safety of power grid corridors.
Mr. Hoang Hai - Director of PC Thanh Hoa informed the local government about the investment plan to upgrade the power grid from 0.4kV to 110kV to ensure the goal of providing stable and reliable electricity for socio-economic development in the period of 2025 - 2030, with a vision to 2045.
PC Thanh Hoa will focus resources on prioritizing projects to prevent overload, ensure stable power supply in industrial parks, industrial clusters and rural areas; enhance the application of digital technology to monitor and operate the power grid more effectively; promote cooperation with local authorities in developing the power grid associated with infrastructure planning, urban areas and new rural construction.
With proactive participation in inspecting, assessing and overcoming damage after storm No. 5, along with strategic orientation for comprehensive investment in modernizing the power system, PC Thanh Hoa is affirming its important role in ensuring energy safety, accompanying the government and people to overcome challenges, and at the same time creating a solid foundation for sustainable socio-economic development in the coming years.
To meet practical requirements, based on the construction investment plan for the period 2025 - 2026 and the following years, EVNNPC and PC Thanh Hoa are implementing a series of projects to renovate and upgrade the power grid from 0.4kV to 110kV. The goal is to ensure stable and reliable power supply for socio-economic development in the period 2025 - 2030, with a vision to 2045, improve service quality, reduce power loss, improve production and living conditions of people, and at the same time synchronize with the program of urban infrastructure development and advanced new rural construction of the province. Since the beginning of 2025, Thanh Hoa PC has been implementing 55 projects, including the construction, renovation and upgrading of 388 load transformers, 721 km of medium-voltage lines, 448 km of low-voltage lines and the installation of 100 circuit breakers with remote automatic control functions. This investment volume aims to improve voltage quality and increase power supply capacity to serve the production and business needs of customers in the province. In particular, the investment in the medium-voltage grid according to the multi-split, multi-connection plan combined with automatic, remote-controlled circuit breakers has contributed to separating incidents and re-energizing from many sources, helping to minimize the number of customers losing power during storms, floods and natural disasters such as the recent storms No. 3 and No. 5. |
