Partnering with the Association for Social Welfare
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien, Vice President of the Thanh Hoa Women Entrepreneurs Association. Despite being severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and the global economic downturn, women-owned businesses have remained resilient, maintaining and developing stable production and business operations. Thanks to their flexibility and creativity, member businesses of the Thanh Hoa Women Entrepreneurs Association have not only survived but also thrived, creating stable jobs for over 12,000 workers. The Association currently has 12 women entrepreneurs' clubs in various communes and wards. Alongside economic development, the Association has paid special attention to and emphasized its social responsibility, and has collaborated with the organization to implement many social welfare programs with widespread impact, such as: awarding hundreds of "Nurturing Dreams" scholarships; sponsoring 133 orphans and donating 165 savings accounts; distributing nearly 10,000 Tet holiday gifts; building and repairing 53 houses of compassion; visiting officers and soldiers in Truong Sa; implementing the "10,000 Meals of Love" program, "Accompanying Women in Border Areas," and supporting livelihood models inside and outside the province, including Hua Phan province (Lao People's Democratic Republic)... The total social welfare expenditure over the past 5 years has exceeded 50 billion VND. To further promote the role of female entrepreneurs in the coming period, the Thanh Hoa Women Entrepreneurs Association proposes that women's associations at all levels continue to advise Party committees and authorities on building mechanisms and policies to support businesses with a large number of female workers, businesses led by women, cooperative economic models, and individual business households run by women; strengthen legal counseling, protect the legitimate rights and interests of women, and encourage women to start businesses. The Women's Union at the commune level, in coordination with the Women's Association, will consolidate and establish clubs for female entrepreneurs and successful women in the local economy. A mechanism for regular coordination between the Provincial Women's Union and the Association will be developed to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of business support; promptly address difficulties; and participate in trade promotion programs, fairs, and exhibitions; support product promotion; and create conditions for women-owned businesses to expand their domestic and international markets. The mechanism for rewarding and honoring outstanding female entrepreneurs and excellent member businesses in production, business, and participation in the women's movement will be expanded. The Thanh Hoa Women Entrepreneurs Association is committed to promoting its role in connecting and linking within the bloc and across regions; striving to maintain its role as a "reliable bridge" between its members and the government, the market, and domestic and international organizations.

Women in the Thanh Hoa Police Force: “The Godmother Journey - Love and Sharing” Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Thi Chung, President of the Women's Association of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police. In response to the "Godmother - Connecting Love" program launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, the Women's Association of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Department advised and received special attention and guidance from the Party Committee and the Director of the Provincial Police Department to widely implement the program in all units. During the implementation process, local associations regularly share experiences, best practices, and innovative approaches to attract voluntary participation, enhance the sense of responsibility among members, encourage resource contributions, and mobilize officers, soldiers, individuals, and organizations to join hands in participating. The association has expanded its sponsorship program to include not only orphans but also children with special circumstances (disabilities) who are children of police officers, in order to encourage police officers to overcome difficulties, work with peace of mind, and successfully complete their assigned tasks. Beyond providing material support, each female police officer and member also dedicates significant time to visiting, encouraging, and guiding the children in their studies and moral development, helping them gain more confidence in life. To date, 75 children have been sponsored by the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Women's Union at various levels, with resources totaling nearly 2 billion VND. Constantly pondering how to sustain the "Godmother" program until the children are ready to enter adulthood, the Women's Association of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police proposed continuing to promote awareness and responsibility among officers and members regarding the profound humanitarian significance of the program. They also suggested mobilizing and connecting more social resources to expand the scope of those receiving sponsorship. Furthermore, they proposed promptly commending and rewarding outstanding individuals and groups in implementing the program, creating momentum for its widespread adoption; and celebrating the resilient examples of the children who have overcome difficulties and strived to become worthy future leaders of the country.
Change your mindset, dare to think, dare to act to develop production.
Ms. Luong Thi Luc, a member of the women's association in Xuan Son village, Son Dien commune. Born and raised in Son Dien commune - a mountainous border commune in the western part of the province, still facing many difficulties, I have strived to study hard to escape poverty. Realizing that our hometown had a very clear, stable spring water source year-round, suitable for raising sturgeon, my wife and I had the idea of bringing sturgeon back to our hometown to try raising them. We put our idea into action, and despite the difficulties, we were determined to borrow money to buy 1,000 sturgeon fry from Sa Pa. In 2020, my wife and I invested in our first fish farming system, consisting of cement tanks placed along the stream, using filtered natural water for breeding. The fish thrived, and at one point, we harvested over 2 tons of marketable fish, selling them for 180,000 to 220,000 VND/kg, earning a profit of nearly 100 million VND. This initial success motivated us to expand the scale and increase the number of fingerlings to several thousand. At its peak, we had up to 10,000 fish. Once we gained experience in raising sturgeon, my wife and I bought fry to raise, which reduced costs compared to buying adult fish and minimized losses. We also shared our sturgeon farming experience with people in the area to create a market for the product and help each other with production, thereby increasing income. In May 2023, my family established the Thanh Luc Agricultural and Aquatic Products Service Cooperative. At the end of 2023, the cooperative's sturgeon products were recognized as achieving OCOP 3-star standard. Currently, my family owns a total area of 400m² , raising approximately 18,000 sturgeon annually, yielding over 15 tons per year; generating revenue of 3.5 to 4 billion VND per year, and providing regular employment for 8 workers with an income of 5 to 8 million VND per person per month. In May 2025, I was honored by the Provincial Women's Union as an outstanding woman in the patriotic emulation movement, 2020-2025 period.
