Timely support for student loans to study STEM fields.

(CT) - Implementing Decision No. 29/2025/QD-TTg dated August 28, 2025, of the Prime Minister on credit for students, master's students, and doctoral students studying science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields, the Cai Rang branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) is the first unit under the VBSP branch in Can Tho city to disburse loans to 3 students at Can Tho University, FPT University, and Can Tho College of Economics and Technology who are studying STEM fields, with a total amount of 180 million VND (an average of 60 million VND per student).

According to the Can Tho City Branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP), based on the review results from its affiliated transaction offices, from now until the end of 2025, the Branch expects to disburse loans to approximately 107 students, including undergraduates, master's students, and doctoral candidates studying STEM fields, totaling nearly 8 billion VND. This will support students in covering tuition fees, living expenses, and other study costs. Students in STEM fields who need loans should contact the Can Tho City VBSP Branch, VBSP transaction offices, commune/ward People's Committees, savings and loan groups, or residential groups in their legally registered areas.
