Further deepening the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Azerbaijan.

The Vice Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party affirmed that Azerbaijan highly values and prioritizes its relationship with Vietnam, considering Vietnam an important partner in the Asia- Pacific region.

On the afternoon of November 22, at the Party Central Committee headquarters, Ms. Truong Thi Mai, Member of the Political Bureau, Standing Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and Head of the Central Organization Department, received the delegation of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party of the Republic of Azerbaijan, led by Mr. Tahir Budagov, Vice Chairman of the Party and Chief of the Central Office of the New Azerbaijan Party, during their working visit to Vietnam from November 19-24.

Expressing his pleasure at visiting Vietnam, Mr. Tahir Budagov thanked the Standing Committee of the Party Central Committee for taking the time to receive the delegation; and congratulated the Communist Party of Vietnam on leading the people to achieve many great accomplishments in building and developing the country.

Mr. Tahir Budagov highly appreciated the traditional friendly relations between Vietnam and Azerbaijan, affirming that Azerbaijan highly values and prioritizes its relationship with Vietnam, considering Vietnam an important partner in the Asia-Pacific region.

Expressing his pleasure that during this visit, the two Parties signed a new Cooperation Agreement, laying the foundation for relations between the two countries in various fields, Mr. Tahir Budagov affirmed that Azerbaijan will actively cooperate with Vietnam to effectively implement the Cooperation Agreement, bringing the relationship between the two Parties to strong development in the future, contributing to further deepening the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Azerbaijan.

Welcoming the working visit to Vietnam of the New Azerbaijan Party delegation, Comrade Truong Thi Mai, Member of the Political Bureau, Standing Secretary of the Central Committee, and Head of the Central Organization Department, stated that this visit by the New Azerbaijan Party delegation and the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the New Azerbaijan Party is an important milestone in the relationship between the two parties.

The Standing Committee of the Party Central Committee believes that the visit will contribute to strengthening the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Azerbaijan in general, and between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the New Azerbaijan Party in particular.

Comrade Truong Thi Mai congratulated Azerbaijan on the achievements it has made under the leadership of the New Azerbaijan Party, and expressed gratitude for the valuable support that the State and people of Azerbaijan have given to Vietnam in its past struggle for national independence as well as in Vietnam's current cause of national construction and development.

Discussing the situation of the two Parties and countries, reviewing important milestones in bilateral relations between Vietnam and Azerbaijan, especially President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Azerbaijan in 1959, the visit of Azerbaijani People's Leader Heydar Aliyev to Vietnam in 1983, and reciprocal visits by high-level leaders of the two countries, both sides expressed confidence that, based on traditional friendship and existing potential, with the efforts of both sides, Vietnam-Azerbaijan relations will develop well in all fields, passing on to future generations.
