On the evening of December 30th, the first "Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Plant Festival" in 2023 officially opened at Sa Dec City Square, Dong Thap province.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Le Quoc Phong, Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, stated that after hundreds of years of formation and development, the Sa Dec flower village continues to thrive, beautifying the increasingly modern city of Sa Dec and Dong Thap, a province deeply imbued with the love of its land and flowers.

Sa Dec's ornamental flowers and plants are now a key sector in Dong Thap province's agriculture , with over 3,000 hectares of cultivated land, more than 2,000 varieties of flowers and plants, and supplying over 12 million products annually, worth more than 6,000 billion VND.
The first "Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Plant Festival" in 2023, with the theme "Love of the Land - Love of Flowers," is an opportunity for Dong Thap to introduce more fully and comprehensively to friends near and far the potential, strengths, and unique beauty of Sa Dec's flowers and ornamental plants.
"This festival is expected to not only bring exciting experiences to the people and tourists, but also to be an opportunity to connect and promote the economic value of the flower and ornamental plant industry, bringing Sa Dec's flower and ornamental plant products to a new level and reach further," Mr. Phong emphasized.

Attending the opening ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man highly appreciated the initiative of Dong Thap province in organizing this flower and ornamental plant festival. This is a meaningful cultural, economic, and tourism event, aiming to honor and acknowledge the tireless contributions of many people dedicated to flowers and plants.

The first "Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Plant Festival" in 2023 will take place from December 30, 2023 to January 5, 2024 with many activities. Local people and tourists can come to Sa Dec to enjoy the "beauty and fragrance" of the flower village.

"Love for the land, love for the flowers" is the theme of this year's "Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Plant Festival".

At the Festival, locals and tourists also have the opportunity to learn about the 2,000 species of flowers and ornamental plants currently grown in Sa Dec flower village.
