Sentenced to 14 years in prison for fraud, using fake seals and documents

On the morning of August 21, the People's Court of An Giang province tried a case of fraud and appropriation of property; forging seals and documents of agencies and organizations and using fake documents of agencies and organizations; and sentenced defendant Nguyen Hoang Giang (55 years old, residing in Bac Kan province; now Thai Nguyen province) to 14 years in prison.

According to the indictment, in November 2019, Giang mortgaged his car registration to borrow more than 1.1 billion VND. In 2022, wanting to have money to spend, Giang went online to order a fake car registration with information and images similar to his car registration.

From November 1, 2022 to April 17, 2023, Giang committed fraud three times, using fake car, motorbike, and scooter registration certificates to mortgage, pledge, and borrow money from the victims with a total amount of 1.52 billion VND.

After receiving the money, Giang used it all and fled the area.
