On July 16, on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), a delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, led by Comrade Thai Thanh Quy, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, offered flowers and incense to commemorate and pay tribute to the heroes and martyrs resting at cemeteries in Quang Tri province.

Starting the journey back to the source, this morning, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy and the delegation came to offer flowers, incense, and visit the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap in Quang Binh province.

Here, the delegation of Nghe An province respectfully remembered and expressed gratitude for the outstanding contributions and dedication to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the Vietnamese people of General Vo Nguyen Giap.

The life and revolutionary activities of General Vo Nguyen Giap always shine with revolutionary spirit and creativity in military art; a loyal revolutionary soldier, devoted his whole life, sacrificed and strived to serve the Party, serve the people, serve the country, regardless of personal fame and profit. The image and contributions of the General will always live forever with the country, forever in the hearts of the Vietnamese people and international friends.

In the afternoon of the same day, the delegation visited Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery (the resting place of more than 10,300 martyrs who sacrificed their lives on the Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Trail during the anti-American war), and Road 9 Cemetery (the resting place of more than 10,800 martyrs who sacrificed their lives on the Quang Tri battlefield and performed noble duties in Laos).

In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy and the delegation conducted a bell-ringing ceremony to pray for the heroic martyrs, laid wreaths, offered incense, observed a minute of silence, and respectfully bowed to express their infinite gratitude to the cadres and soldiers who fought and sacrificed heroically for the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland.

That great sacrifice is a shining example of patriotism for generations today and tomorrow to forever learn and follow.

Leaders of Nghe An province respectfully observed a minute of silence to commemorate martyrs from Nghe An and Ha Tinh at the graves of martyrs from Nghe Tinh at the National Martyrs' Cemetery on Road 9.

Also at the two national cemeteries of Truong Son and Road 9, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy and the delegation held a ceremony to pay their respects, offer flowers and incense to each grave of martyrs from Nghe An. Of which, at the national cemetery of Truong Son there are nearly 1,300 martyrs and at the road 9 cemetery there are about 200 martyrs.

In front of the heroic souls of the martyrs of the homeland, on behalf of the Party Committee, the government and the people of Nghe An province, the delegation vows to continue to inherit and promote the revolutionary tradition; pay more attention and care to the work of gratitude, repaying kindness, and taking care of the heroic Vietnamese Mothers. Constantly improve the material and spiritual life of families with meritorious services to the revolution, and care for wounded soldiers. Unite in one heart, be of one mind, and be determined to build the homeland to develop more and more, to be worthy of the heroic sacrifices of the heroic martyrs in the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland.

Although the resting place of Nghe An martyrs is far from their hometown, the officials and people of Quang Tri province, the Management Board of martyrs' cemeteries, on behalf of the people of the whole country, always take care of the incense, visit and warm the hearts of their families, relatives and hometown.
