The delegation included leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Planning and Investment, the Provincial People's Committee Office and representatives of a number of enterprises in Nghe An province.
Welcoming the delegation was comrade Vu Quang Minh - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Federal Republic of Germany.

At the meeting, Comrade Le Hong Vinh informed the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Federal Republic of Germany about the socio-economic achievements of Nghe An province in recent times as well as the cooperation situation between Nghe An and the Federal Republic of Germany.
Accordingly, in the past time, despite the adverse impacts due to the rapid, complicated and unpredictable developments in the world's political , security and economic situation, Nghe An province has strived to overcome and achieved quite comprehensive results in all fields: The scale of the economy currently ranks 10th nationwide. Economic growth in 2022 reached 9.08%, ranking 22nd nationwide; In the first 6 months of 2023, the province's economic growth reached 5.79%.
Total budget revenue in 2022 is estimated at VND 21,805 billion (equivalent to nearly USD 919 million); in the first 6 months of 2023, it is estimated to reach VND 8,489.4 billion (equivalent to nearly USD 358 million).
In 2022, FDI attraction will reach nearly 1 billion USD, ranking in the top 10 nationwide; In the first 6 months of 2023, FDI attraction of Nghe An province continues to be a bright spot, currently ranked 8th out of 63 localities nationwide.

Nghe An always attaches importance to development cooperation with partners from Europe, including the Federal Republic of Germany. However, up to now, Nghe An province has not had any German enterprises investing in Nghe An.
Regarding exports, in 2022, Nghe An's total export turnover to Germany reached 33,247 million USD. Main items: Steel sheets of all kinds (18.48 million USD), textiles (13.1 million USD), processed fruits and fruit juices (1.43 million USD), paving stones (55.8 thousand USD), gas lighters (49 thousand USD), rice (41 thousand USD), plastic additives (12.6 thousand USD); In the first 8 months of 2023: Nghe An's total export turnover to Germany is estimated at 28.8 million USD, main items: Steel sheets of all kinds (23.5 million USD), textiles (4.7 million USD), processed fruits and fruit juices (223 thousand USD), rice (120 thousand USD), paving stones (89 thousand USD), plastic additives (30 thousand USD), machinery, equipment, tools, and other spare parts (10 thousand USD).
Regarding imports, the total import turnover in 2022 reached 1.49 million USD with the following items: Machinery, equipment, tools, other spare parts (935 thousand USD), animal feed and raw materials (555 thousand USD). In the first 8 months of 2023, the total import turnover is estimated at 1.3 million USD, of which machinery, equipment, tools, other spare parts (839 thousand USD), animal feed (234 thousand USD), raw materials for production (118 thousand USD), animal feed and raw materials (111 thousand USD), chemicals (4.7 thousand USD).

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that in the coming time, the Vietnamese Embassy in the Federal Republic of Germany will continue to pay attention to, support and promote investment cooperation between Nghe An province and Germany, prioritizing projects in sectors and fields such as: High technology, environmentally friendly technology, clean energy, renewable energy; manufacturing medical equipment, providing health care services, education and training, high-quality tourism, financial services, logistics and other modern services; developing modern technical infrastructure, especially new industries on the basis of industry 4.0...
Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Federal Republic of Germany Vu Quang Minh acknowledged the achievements in economic and social development of Nghe An province. He emphasized that the Vietnam-Germany relationship was established in 1975, since then, the friendship and cooperation between the two countries have developed positively, increasingly deeply, effectively and comprehensively. For many years, Germany has been one of Vietnam's most important partners in Europe. Mutual trust and understanding between the two countries have been increasingly enhanced through maintaining high-level delegation exchanges and cooperation mechanisms. The two countries have signed many agreements creating a legal basis for economic cooperation such as: Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement; Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement; Maritime and Aviation Agreements.
In terms of trade, Germany is currently Vietnam's largest trading partner in Europe (accounting for nearly 20% of Vietnam's exports to the EU) and is also an important transit gateway for Vietnamese goods to other markets in Europe; At the same time, Vietnam is also Germany's leading trading partner in Southeast Asia and Germany's 6th largest partner in Asia. Germany plays an active role in the negotiation and ratification of the Vietnam - EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the Vietnam - EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) in the EU.
The Vietnamese Embassy in the Federal Republic of Germany pledged to support the province in connecting with German investors, especially in areas where Nghe An has advantages and is in line with the province's development orientation; at the same time, connecting in trade, service, science and technology, education and culture cooperation, and labor export.
Also during the working trip of the Nghe An delegation to the Federal Republic of Germany, the delegation visited Dong Xuan Trade Center in Berlin; met with businesses and overseas Vietnamese from Nghe - Tinh living and working in Berlin, Germany.
On the morning of October 6, the Nghe An delegation will attend the Vietnam - Federal Republic of Germany Trade Promotion Conference and a business-to-business exchange program in Berlin, chaired by the Trade Promotion Agency, Ministry of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
