Overcoming storms and floods, Nghe An's budget revenue for the first 8 months of 2025 exceeded estimates, aiming for the 26,000 billion VND mark.

On the morning of September 4, the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a regular meeting for August 2025 under the chairmanship and direction of comrade Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

The meeting was co-chaired by the Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee; in attendance were members of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives from various departments and agencies.

The report presented at the meeting showed that, despite facing numerous difficulties due to successive natural disasters, especially typhoons No. 3 and No. 5 in July and August which caused severe damage to many localities, with decisive leadership and efforts from the entire political system, the province's socio-economic situation continued to remain stable, and budget revenue achieved many positive results.

By the end of August 2025, total state budget revenue in the area is estimated to reach 18,084 billion VND, equivalent to 102% of the annual forecast and an increase of 17.2% compared to the same period in 2024.

Of this, domestic revenue is estimated at 16,805 billion VND, reaching 104.9% of the projected figure and increasing by 17.8% compared to the same period last year; revenue from import and export activities is estimated at 1,175 billion VND, reaching 72.1% of the projected figure and increasing by 6.1% compared to the same period last year.

According to the plan, Nghe An aims to achieve a budget revenue of 26,000 billion VND in 2025, far exceeding the assigned target of 17,726 billion VND.

The results for the first eight months of the year are very encouraging, affirming the determination to overcome difficulties and the high level of effort of the entire province.

However, in the face of the unusual impacts of natural disasters, weather, and the significant spending needs for development investment as well as flood and storm recovery, Nghe An aims for departments, sectors, and localities to continue tightening financial discipline, strengthening revenue and expenditure management, and at the same time, promoting production and business to create additional sustainable revenue sources.

The focus from now until the end of the year is to build on the growth momentum, concentrate on effectively utilizing resources, and be determined to complete and surpass the target of 26,000 billion VND in budget revenue.
