Provincial leaders received a delegation from Hoseo University, Korea

On the afternoon of August 23rd, Mr. Tong Quang Thin, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired a courtesy meeting with Mr. Joon Mo Kang, Vice President of Hoseo University, Asan City, South Korea, to explore and establish cooperation between Ninh Binh province and Korean partners in the field of education .

Also attending the reception were leaders from the Provincial People's Committee Office; leaders from the Department of Education and Training; and leaders from Hoa Lu University.

Mr. Tong Quang Thin, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, happily welcomed Mr. Joon Mo Kang, Vice President of Hoseo University, and the delegation from Hoseo University.

The comrade gave the delegation a general overview of the province's history, geographical location, and outstanding achievements in socio-economic development.

It was emphasized that Ninh Binh is a province with a rich cultural, historical, and revolutionary tradition, having been the first capital of Vietnam's first centralized feudal state more than 1,000 years ago. Ninh Binh has advantages in terms of scenic landscapes, including the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, which is an intangible cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO as the first mixed heritage site in Vietnam...

Over the past three years, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Ninh Binh has been one of the provinces that has done well in disease prevention and control, contributing to the local economic recovery. Notably, in 2022, Ninh Binh was a province that balanced its budget and contributed to the central government budget.

Ninh Binh's educational quality has consistently ranked among the top in the country for over seven years in terms of average scores in the High School Graduation Examination. Ninh Binh is home to several central vocational colleges and Hoa Lu University. Hoa Lu University excels in teacher training and finance, and hopes to expand its engineering programs in the future.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: Vietnam and South Korea in general, and Ninh Binh province and localities in South Korea in particular, have had diplomatic relations for many years. Ninh Binh and Asan province have signed a friendship and cooperation agreement, which has yielded certain results, strengthening and consolidating the relationship between Vietnam and South Korea, contributing to promoting socio-economic development in the province, and showcasing the natural beauty, culture, and people of Ninh Binh to the people of South Korea.

During the visit of Mr. Joon Mo Kang, Vice President of Hoseo University, and the Hoseo University delegation, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee proposed establishing a cooperative relationship between Hoa Lu University and Hoseo University in the fields of electronics technology, engineering, and other professions currently lacking expertise, as well as developing a Korean language training center at Hoa Lu University.

Thanking Ninh Binh province for the warm welcome extended to the Hoseo University delegation, Mr. Joon Mo Kang, Vice President of Hoseo University, emphasized the friendly relationship between the two countries as well as between Ninh Binh and Asan provinces.

At the same time, we introduced Hoseo University, a private comprehensive university with approximately 14,000 students, including 120 Vietnamese students currently studying there; the majority of the faculty are professors and doctors. Hoseo University is the first university in Korea to offer training related to entrepreneurship; it supports startup projects with students, faculty, and professors, and has connections with businesses in implementing startup projects. In particular, the university's main field of study is science and technology.

Therefore, with the proposal from Ninh Binh province and Hoa Lu University regarding training in the field of technology, Mr. Joon Mo Kang hopes that the two universities will soon have exchanges and cooperation in higher education, fostering mutual development.

At the end of the cordial reception, the leaders of Ninh Binh province and Hoseo University exchanged gifts representing the cultural symbols of the two localities. Both sides extended an invitation for a friendly visit between Ninh Binh province and Hoseo University in the near future.
