On behalf of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), General Secretary Duong Nghiep Khoi presented a donation of 50 million VND to the family of player Vo Minh Hieu. In addition, Mr. Khoi also represented the VFF in visiting and providing financial assistance to the two injured players and a fan who are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
Vo Minh Hieu, born in 2002, was a player under the management of the Quang Nam Youth team competing in the 2023 National Second Division football league. While traveling from Kon Tum to Tam Ky City, the bus carrying the Quang Nam youth team was involved in an accident on the Vi O Lac pass (in Ba To district, Quang Ngai province), resulting in the death of Vo Minh Hieu. This is a great loss for the team and especially for the family of player Vo Minh Hieu.
VFF General Secretary Duong Nghiep Khoi visited Vo Minh Hieu's home to offer condolences to his family.
VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan, on behalf of the VFF Executive Committee, extended his deepest condolences to the entire team, especially the family of player Vo Minh Hieu, on this loss. In his letter of condolence, President Tran Quoc Tuan expressed: "On behalf of the VFF Executive Committee, I would like to express my deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to the family of the player involved in the accident. I hope the family of the deceased player will soon overcome this painful time, and I hope the injured players and fans will recover quickly to return to football."
