On March 15th, the contractor, in coordination with the Long An Department of Construction, commenced the installation of Super T girders for the T24-T25 span of the Tan Buu overpass, part of the main section of Ring Road 3 through Long An.
According to our reporter's observations, from early morning on March 15th, at the Tan Buu overpass, part of package XL2 of the Ring Road 3 project through Long An, the contractor had completed the installation of the crane system, and the trucks carrying Super T girders were also ready.
The clip shows the installation of the first Super T girder at the Tan Buu bridge interchange on Ring Road 3 in Long An province.
By over 8:30 AM, authorities had set up barricades to block vehicles at both ends of the Tan Buu bridge on provincial road 830C. More than 10 minutes later, the first Super T girder was safely and smoothly placed onto the T24-T25 pier cap.
After 15 minutes, the beam was completed, so there was no traffic congestion, even though provincial road 830C is very busy with vehicles traveling from the Mekong Delta to Ho Chi Minh City and vice versa.
According to a representative of IDICO Petroleum Construction Investment Joint Stock Company, the Tan Buu overpass now only has two more spans to be completed for girder installation, after which the bridge deck will be constructed to connect the entire overpass. This marks an important milestone in the overall progress of the project.
The representative also stated that the XL2 package, which involves the construction of the main expressway, the parallel left-hand branch, and the parallel road from Provincial Road 830C to the My Yen interchange connecting the Ben Luc - Long An and Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expressways, has reached over 63% completion.
According to Mr. Dang Hoang Tuan, Director of the Long An Department of Construction, the overall progress of the project has reached over 65% of the construction value. Specifically, Package XL1, which involves the construction of the expressway, has achieved 58% completion. The contractor is currently deploying nine construction teams to carry out various tasks, including: treating weak soil foundations, unloading, completing the roadbed with sand, and laying crushed stone aggregate for the road surface…
Package XL2, which involves the construction of river bridges, viaducts, and parallel roads, has achieved over 63% completion. Currently, there are 10 construction teams working on this package, constructing the bridge body, abutments, piers, pier caps, casting and launching girders, and pouring concrete for the bridge deck.
It is expected that today (March 15th), the installation of 8 girder sections at the T24-T25 pier span of the Tan Buu overpass will be completed.
Package XL3 involves the construction of the final interchange connecting to the Ben Luc – Long Thanh expressway, with the completion value reaching 79%.
The contractor is concentrating resources and personnel at five construction sites. The overpass and U-turn bridge have been completed, and the installation of railings is underway, preparing for asphalt paving of the bridge surface. This contract also includes the completion of a 250m section of Ramp A connecting to the Ben Luc – Long Thanh expressway, which has been opened for trial traffic.
The Long An section of the Ring Road 3 project commenced in June 2023 and has a length of 6.8km. It starts at the border between Ho Chi Minh City and Long An, and ends at the My Yen interchange connecting the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway and the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expressway, passing through Ben Luc district, Long An province.
The total investment is 4,208 billion VND. Of which, 3,040 billion VND is for construction, and 1,168 billion VND is for land clearance, support, and resettlement.
