The Vietnamese women's team took a spectacular lead.
The Vietnamese women's team entered their final match of the SEA Games 33 under pressure to defeat Myanmar to secure a place in the semi-finals.
Following their 0-1 defeat against the Philippines, coach Mai Duc Chung boosted his players' morale. The Vietnamese women's team sharpened their attacking wing play and fine-tuned their aim. With superior strength, Huynh Nhu and her teammates gave their Myanmar opponents no chance to retaliate.

A dominant 2-0 victory over Myanmar in the final match this afternoon (December 11th) propelled the Vietnamese women's team straight into the semi-finals as group B winners. While Myanmar and the Philippines both have 6 points, Vietnam has a better goal difference and a superior head-to-head record.
In the semi-finals, the Vietnamese women's team will face Indonesia. The match will take place at 4 PM on December 14th in Chonburi (Thailand). This is a relatively easy challenge for the Vietnamese women's team, as Indonesia has not been a dominant force in Southeast Asian women's football for a long time. While Vietnam has won 4 consecutive SEA Games gold medals in women's football from 2017 to the present, Indonesia has never advanced beyond the group stage.
In Group A, Indonesia finished second. The Indonesian women's team suffered a heavy 0-8 defeat against Thailand and won 3-1 against Singapore.
With their superior strength, the Vietnamese women's team is expected to have an easy match in the semi-finals, not only to reach the gold medal match but also to maintain their high morale and performance.
In the other semi-final match, taking place at 6:30 PM on December 14th, Thailand will face the Philippines.
