Two specialized high schools have announced the 10th grade entrance exam schedule to help candidates prepare for the upcoming entrance exam.
Foreign Language High School (Foreign Language University, Vietnam National University, Hanoi ) announced to organize 2 trial exams for grade 10.
Round 1 takes place on March 30 with the following subjects: Literature, Math, English for conditions, English for majors, registration period from March 7 to March 16.
Round 2 takes place on April 27 with the following subjects: Literature, Math, Conditional English, Specialized Foreign Language (including English, French, Chinese, German, Japanese, Korean), registration period is from March 7 to April 16.
The exam fee is 600,000 VND/session, including the exam registration fee, exam fee and is non-refundable if the candidate fails the exam. The results of each mock exam are announced by the school 20 days after the exam date (excluding weekends and holidays).

Previously, the Foreign Language Specialized High School announced the 10th grade exam schedule on June 1. In addition to the three compulsory subjects (Math, Literature, English), students can choose one of five foreign languages, including English, French, Chinese, German, Japanese, Korean to take the exam for the corresponding specialized classes. As for English, it can be used to register for all specialized classes.
The admission score is the total score of four subjects on a 10-point scale, in which the specialized subject is multiplied by a factor of two, with a maximum of 50. Students will receive an additional 1.5 points if they win first prize in foreign languages in provincial competitions for excellent students. Candidates will be considered for direct admission if they win international prizes; or provincial prizes in competitions held on a national scale, organized by the Ministry of Education and Training . The school has not yet announced the enrollment quota.
The High School for the Gifted (Hanoi National University of Education) organizes 3 trial exams in March, April, and May 2025.
The first round will take place on March 9 with three subjects: Math, Literature and specialized subjects (Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, English). From the second round, the school will organize a trial test for the general English subject, candidates will take the test in two days, specifically as follows:
Candidates are grade 9 students nationwide. The exam fee is 600,000 VND/session, including registration fee, exam fee and will not be refunded if the candidate fails the exam. The school notes that candidates taking the specialized IT exam will take the IT exam, not the Math exam as in previous years. Currently, the University of Education High School for the Gifted has not announced the enrollment plan for 2025.
This year, Luong The Vinh Secondary and High School (Cau Giay campus) is the first school to organize a mock exam for grade 10 students. The school organized a mock exam for 3 subjects: Math, Literature, and English on January 5. Participants are grade 9 students of the school and grade 9 students across the city. The mock exam helps students evaluate their learning process, thereby having a suitable study and review plan, ready for the official exam.
