President Zelensky recently held a meeting with the military command, where they prepared a military package aimed at significantly strengthening Ukraine's capabilities on its path to victory in the war against Russia.

Vladimir Rogov, a senior official of the Russian-appointed Zaporizhzhia administration, said that Russian troops are advancing into the Stepnogorsk settlement in Zaporizhzhia and gradually taking control of it.

Russia says it thwarted a Ukrainian assassination plot.

The Federal Security Service's (FSB) Public Relations Center announced that it had shot dead a suspected Ukrainian spy, thwarting an assassination attempt on a defense business leader in Sverdlovsk.

“ The FSB has thwarted the illegal activities of a Russian citizen born in 1984. This individual is an agent of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and a member of a Ukrainian nationalist organization in Russia ,” the statement said.

Russian officials said the suspect received instructions from Ukrainian intelligence to manufacture an explosive device to plant in a vehicle carrying a senior executive of a defense company in Sverdlovsk. Neither the suspect's identity nor the assassination target has been disclosed by the FSB.

At the time investigators executed the arrest warrant, the suspect was hiding a homemade bomb in a camouflaged container. He was shot dead after drawing his weapon and resisting arrest.

Ukraine has not commented on the information.
