The Celestine Prophecy by author James Redfield, first published in 1993, quickly became a worldwide literary phenomenon.
For three years, Celestine's Prophecy was on the New York Times bestseller list. To date, the work has been translated into 34 languages with tens of millions of copies sold.
The book revolves around the adventures of high school teacher John as he travels to Peru in search of an ancient book containing the secrets of the Inca culture. During this journey, John meets local people and archaeologists, thereby discovering the ultimate secrets of the universe.

James Redfield was born in 1950 in a rural area of Alabama (USA). He is particularly interested in human potential and the journey of spiritual transformation. James Redfield studied interactional psychology, Eastern and Western philosophy, science , history, and mysticism while majoring in sociology at Auburn University. He then received his Master's degree and spent over 15 years as a counselor and therapist for abused adolescents. During this time, he became fascinated with human potential, intuition theories, and the individual's journey of spiritual evolution. |
