On the morning of May 22nd in Hanoi , officers and staff of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department held a ceremony to offer incense at the Bac Son Martyrs' Memorial and reported their achievements to President Ho Chi Minh, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of its founding (May 27, 2014 - May 27, 2024).

On behalf of the officers and staff of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department, Colonel Pham Manh Thang, Director of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department, reported to President Ho Chi Minh on the outstanding achievements during 10 years of participation in United Nations peacekeeping operations.

Over the past 10 years, the Vietnam People's Army has deployed more than 800 officers and professional soldiers, both individually and as a unit. This includes five echelons of the Level 2 Field Hospital deployed to the South Sudan Mission, two echelons of the Engineering Corps deployed to the Abyei region, and 114 officers deployed individually.

100% of Vietnam's forces possess unwavering political resolve, absolute loyalty to the Party, the Fatherland, and the people, and consistently set a good example in overcoming difficulties to successfully and excellently fulfill all assigned tasks. They are respected and loved by the United Nations leadership, mission commanders, international colleagues, and local people.

Many officers and personnel have been recognized by the United Nations for outstanding performance and awarded the United Nations Peacekeeping Medal, along with numerous certificates of merit and commendations.

Looking ahead, to continue building on the achievements of the past 10 years, Colonel Pham Manh Thang affirmed that the officers, staff, and soldiers of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department will strive their utmost and be determined to build a Party Committee that excels in its mission, a strong, comprehensive, exemplary, and outstanding unit, and to cultivate the character of revolutionary soldiers.

"The Vietnamese Blue Beret force pledges absolute loyalty to the Party, to the Fatherland, to the army, and to the path chosen by Uncle Ho, worthy of being messengers of peace in carrying out activities of high political and humanitarian significance with the international community," he said.
