The match between the Vietnamese futsal team and Lebanon yesterday afternoon (September 24) was the "group final". Although the Lebanese futsal team had "no way back", they could only dominate the field for the first 5 minutes. However, the Vietnamese players did a good job of defending by playing fast and close, leaving the opponent with little space to coordinate and move without the ball. Lebanon's intention to take the lead right after the opening whistle collapsed before the proactive approach of the Vietnamese futsal team. And when Mr. Giustozzi's students accelerated, the West Asian representative's defense system was quickly broken. The fast and sharp attacks helped the Vietnamese futsal team score 3 goals in just 2 minutes of play (from the 9th to 11th minutes of the first half). In turn, Nguyen Da Hai, Nguyen Manh Dung and Tu Minh Quang scored to help the Golden Star team take a 3-0 lead in the first half. In the second half, the Vietnamese team continued to push up their formation, even playing power-play at times to look for more goals. The attacking efforts of the Golden Star team were rewarded with a goal by Vu Ngoc Anh, widening the gap to 4-0. On the other side, Lebanon was behind but could only play defensively to limit the number of goals conceded, in order to maintain the hope of "squeezing through the narrow door" to participate in the 2026 AFC Futsal Championship as the second-placed team with the best record.

It can be said that the Vietnamese futsal team has shown the true class of a team that has participated in the Futsal World Cup twice and is ranked in the number 1 seed group, when they won all 3 matches in Group E of the 2026 Asian Futsal Qualifiers. Coach Giustozzi's team won Hong Kong 9-1, defeated host China (mainland) 7-2, and defeated Lebanon 4-0. The Vietnamese futsal team won 9 absolute points, winning a ticket to the 2026 Asian Futsal Finals with the top position in Group E. With this excellent achievement, the Vietnamese futsal team was awarded 600 million VND by the VFF.

The 2026 AFC Futsal Championship will take place from January 27 to February 7, 2026 in Jakarta (Indonesia). The tournament will bring together 16 of the continent's strongest futsal teams, including 15 teams that passed the qualifying round and host Indonesia, who were given a special invitation to participate. The teams are divided into 4 groups (4 teams each), playing a round-robin to calculate points and rank. The top two teams in each group will qualify for the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and finals.

A very good news for Vietnamese audiences is that the broadcasting copyright of the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship has been owned by K+. All matches of the Finals, including Vietnam's matches, will be broadcast on K+ channels.
