Expanding specialized science and technology classes in high schools

(Dan Tri) - Resolution 71 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development sets us the task of innovating the model of specialized schools and gifted schools to focus on nurturing national talents.

Innovating the model of specialized schools and gifted schools is one of the tasks and solutions in the group of tasks focusing on building a team of teachers, standard school facilities, and improving the quality of preschool and general education .

Specifically, Resolution 71 requires expanding specialized STEAM/STEAM ( science , technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) classes.

For general secondary schools in general, it is necessary to increase the duration of science, technology, information technology, and art subjects; research and incorporate knowledge about digital skills and artificial intelligence into the general education program.

The resolution also stated that it is necessary to strengthen the teaching and learning of foreign languages, gradually making English the second language in schools and teaching the languages ​​of neighboring countries. Raising English standards for teachers and students at all levels; ensuring sufficient quantity and qualifications of teachers, facilities and technology, strongly applying artificial intelligence in teaching and learning English; and increasing the teaching of subjects in English in places with conditions.

By 2030, the quality of preschool and general education in Vietnam will reach an advanced level in the Asian region, while achieving initial results in improving technological capacity, artificial intelligence and English proficiency at the general education level.

The education index contributes to the human development index (HDI) reaching over 0.8, in which the education inequality index falls below 10%.
