According to the Hue City Department of Culture and Sports , the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued decisions classifying the tomb of the renowned figure Dang Van Hoa and the Forward Surgical Station site as national historical relics.
Both of the newly ranked historical sites are located in Phong Thai ward, Hue city.

According to historical records, the forward surgical station in Phong Thai ward had tunnels dug underground, 1.8-2m deep, 1.5m wide, and 8-10m long.
The surgical station was established with the mission of providing emergency care, nursing wounded soldiers, burying fallen soldiers, and serving as an important rear base during the Spring Offensive of 1975. This place commemorates the sacrifice of 33 martyrs in the battle of March 12, 1975, along with the brutal crimes of the enemy.
In 2018, the Forward Surgical Station was classified as a provincial-level historical relic by the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province (now Hue city).
According to historical records, Dang Van Hoa (1791-1856), also known as Le Trai, was the second son of Dang Quang Tuan, a renowned teacher in the capital city of Phu Xuan during the Tay Son dynasty.
His tomb is located in the Con Lenh cemetery, Pho Lai village, Phong Thai ward, and has been classified as a provincial-level historical relic since 2013.

He passed the first provincial examination held in 1813, during the reign of Emperor Gia Long. Dang Van Hoa was a "veteran official serving four dynasties," having served for nearly 40 years under four emperors: Gia Long, Minh Mang, Thieu Tri, and Tu Duc.
In the Nguyen Dynasty court, he successively held the position of Minister, heading five ministries: Household, Rites, Military, Justice, and Public Works, and was renowned as an exceptionally incorruptible official. During nearly 40 years as a high-ranking official, he accomplished many beneficial deeds for the country and its people in the fields of politics, agriculture, and culture.
In addition, he was also a poet, leaving behind the collection Lễ Trai thi containing 75 authentic poems, and edited major works such as Nam thổ anh hoa lục, Thiệu Trị văn quy, Đại nam sự lệ hội điển, etc.
Located about 2.5km from the tomb of Dang Van Hoa is the national historical site of the tomb of the patriotic scholar Dang Huy Tru (Photo: Vi Thao).
According to researchers, in Hue, besides the famous figure Dang Van Hoa, there were also Dang Huy Ta, Dang Huy Tru, Dang Huy Cat, Dang Huu Pho, etc., who excelled in their studies and held high official positions.
Dang Huu Pho (son of Prince Consort Dang Huy Cat and Princess Tinh Hoa) was the grandson of the renowned figure Dang Van Hoa, and the patriotic Confucian scholar Dang Huy Tru called Dang Van Hoa his paternal uncle.
To date, many structures belonging to this family have been classified as national historical relics, such as the Dang Huy Tru Church (Kim Tra ward), the Dang Huy Tru mausoleum (Phong Thai ward), and the Dang Huu Pho mausoleum (Dan Dien commune), all in Hue city.
