According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Lang commune (Thanh Ha district), at approximately 4 PM on April 2nd, the commune received a report that the family of Mr. Tang Ba Sam in Hamlet 2, Lang Can 1 village, was arbitrarily using an excavator to level agricultural land in the alluvial area adjacent to the Rang River dike. This was done without reporting to the commune leadership and without permission from the competent authorities.
Mr. Sam's family leased approximately 10,000 m² of alluvial land in Thanh Lang commune for agricultural production and the harvesting of mud crabs and other shellfish. This area has also been approved by Thanh Ha district as a planned aquaculture zone. However, Mr. Sam's family has not yet developed a concrete plan for leveling the land and has not completed the necessary legal procedures.
The People's Committee of Thanh Lang commune has requested Mr. Sam's family to immediately stop leveling agricultural land. The commune is continuing to verify the extent of Mr. Sam's family's violations to report to Thanh Ha district for appropriate action.
