The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) has just sent an official dispatch to the People's Committee of Hue City, asking for comments on the content of the Plan to restore the national treasure "Nguyen Dynasty Throne".

Accordingly, Official Dispatch No. 3495/BVHTTDL-DSVH signed by Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong stated that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has received Document No. 8092/UBND-CN dated June 24, 2025 of the People's Committee of Hue City regarding the request for opinions on the content of the plan to restore the throne - one of the typical national treasures of the Nguyen Dynasty.

After research, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism assessed that the restoration plan was seriously developed, closely following the necessary contents according to regulations. However, to ensure scientific and legal aspects, the Ministry requested the People's Committee of Hue City to pay attention to some key issues.

First of all, it is necessary to clearly define the goal of restoration as “returning the object to its most similar state to the time of preparing the dossier for the proposed recognition as a national treasure in 2015”. At the same time, the use of new techniques, technologies and materials in restoration must ensure suitability, appropriateness, and not distort the original value.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also requested to establish a complete record of the current status of the national treasure - the Nguyen Dynasty throne, compare it with the 2015 record and carefully refer to related sources of documents (if any). Regarding the professional supervision council, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hue City to advise the Hue City People's Committee to specify the tasks and powers of the council to ensure efficiency and transparency in the restoration process.
