The administration of US President Donald Trump laid off nearly 10,000 employees on February 14 in a large-scale staff reduction campaign.

Reuters reported that more than 9,500 US federal government employees working in energy, land management, health care , and retired military care agencies were laid off on February 14.

About 75,000 employees have already accepted government compensation to voluntarily leave, according to a White House announcement. The total represents more than 3% of the 2.3 million federal civilian employees.
