According to the new regulations, retail stores must check the identification of individuals under 30 when purchasing tobacco products, instead of under 27 as before.

The FDA also banned the sale of tobacco products through vending machines in locations where people under 21 are permitted to enter, compared to the previous requirement of 18.
This change is part of the U.S. effort to prevent smoking-related deaths and curb e-cigarette use among teenagers.
Furthermore, according to the American Lung Association, this new regulation could help mitigate the negative impacts of nicotine on children's health, including an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, lung disease, and other chronic illnesses.
The World Health Organization (WHO) warns that tobacco companies are targeting younger generations through social media, sports, and music festivals. According to statistics, smoking kills more than 480,000 people each year in the United States.
