That is Dinh Dac Huy, a student of class 12A3, Luong The Vinh High School, Duc Trong commune, Lam Dong .
Get 10 points for understanding and slow learning
Huy loved math since elementary school, and as he grew older, he especially loved natural sciences . From middle school to high school, Huy gradually developed his own learning method.
When in class, Huy tries to solve all the outlines and review tests that the teachers have collected. After finishing, Huy checks the answers and asks the teachers about the things he doesn't understand or makes mistakes. At home, Huy looks for more good questions to do, reviews to make sure he has learned the knowledge, learns more about the teachers online and absorbs new knowledge.

Notably, Huy chooses to learn slowly and understand. When encountering a new lesson, Huy tries to understand it all before doing the exercises, so he usually learns very slowly.
"When I encounter difficult problems that I cannot solve, I do not immediately find a solution but spend two to three days or even a week to ponder over the problem. This way of learning helps me understand and remember the formulas without having to memorize them, and the later the stage, the faster my learning speed becomes when I have a previous foundation," Huy shared with Thanh Nien Newspaper reporters.
Besides, in addition to studying at school in the morning, Huy spends the afternoon studying by himself and doing housework, playing sports , and in the evening pondering over new knowledge. In particular, the male student always goes to bed before 11pm.
This method applies not only to mathematics, but also to other natural sciences.
Thanks to his self-designed method, Huy scored 10 points in physics and 10 points in chemistry in the 2025 high school graduation exam. With the math test, which was considered difficult, Huy scored 9.5 points.

Huy said that with the math exam, at first when he checked the questions, he was a bit confused, not used to the A3 paper size and the long questions. He told himself to calm down and slowly read the questions, then prioritized doing the easy questions and left the difficult ones for last.
"This year's math test will not be too difficult if you read the test carefully and understand all the questions because the test revolves around the knowledge you have learned. However, the font size of the test and the long, complicated math questions can make candidates lose their composure at first, leading to the mentality of "the test is difficult, I don't dare to do it", the male student from Lam Dong shared.
First prize in math competition for excellent students in Lam Dong province
Dinh Dac Huy has always been an excellent student in his 3 years of high school. In grades 10 and 11, Huy won second prize in the school-level math competition. In grade 12, he won first prize in the Lam Dong province-level math competition and received a certificate of merit from the Director of the Department of Education and Training of Lam Dong province (before July 1, 2025, the old Lam Dong province had not merged with Binh Thuan province and Dak Nong province to form the new Lam Dong province).

The male student is always grateful to Mr. Ho Dac Thien and Ms. Do Thi Sum, the teachers who trained the school's excellent math students. His math achievements are partly due to the teachers' enthusiastic teaching. Mr. Thien told Thanh Nien Newspaper reporter: "Huy is a good student, diligent in researching and studying at home, with a very high sense of self-awareness. He did all the math problems at home and then checked the results with the teacher."
With the score achieved beyond expectations, Huy wants to apply to the Computer Science major at the University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University).
Mr. Tran Viet Thanh, Principal of Luong The Vinh High School, Duc Trong Commune, Lam Dong Province, said that Dinh Dac Huy is an excellent, obedient, and hard-working student. Huy's self-study spirit is commendable. Having a student get 10 points in physics, 10 points in chemistry, and 9.5 points in math in the 2025 high school graduation exam like Huy is the most impressive achievement of Luong The Vinh High School students in high school graduation exams in recent years.
