The Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee has issued a notice of the conclusion of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee on raising the floor fund to support housing construction for poor households, near-poor households and households in difficult circumstances in the city.
Specifically, the new support level is increased to 100 million VND per house, 120 million VND per house for areas with weak ground and 150 million VND per house in Con Dao. According to statistics, Ho Chi Minh City currently has more than 4,000 poor households and 16,000 near-poor households.
The Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee assigned the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Fatherland Front Party Committee to lead the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to properly implement the purpose, target and ensure procedures according to the operating regulations of the Mobilization Committee and the Fund Management Council managed by the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.
To date, Ho Chi Minh City still has 21,961 poor and near-poor households according to each region's standards. In the first 7 months of 2025, Ho Chi Minh City has supported the issuance of 88,276 health insurance cards with a total cost of 101.2 billion VND; supported vocational training for 190 workers and created jobs for 625 workers; supported the construction and repair of 1,035 houses with a total cost of 82.1 billion VND.
Ho Chi Minh City strives to have no more poor households by national standards and less than 0.5% of poor households by the city's poverty standards by the end of 2025.
Previously, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City sent a document to the Department of Agriculture and Environment and localities on implementing the target of reducing poor and near-poor households in the last 6 months of 2025.
